Hoover has pitched well so far this year. He should've been out of the inning unscored upon, but Phillips had the error on the double-play ball.

Iglesias pitched 5 innings of three-hit, one run baseball tonight for Louisville. He only through 73 pitches. The Reds need to get him up here in the bullpen now.

Why not get him up here to start? I agree that sending him down in the first place was yet another mistake by the Reds front office and management. I also think that it is a mistake to keep Hamilton up here. He should be playing in triple A and working on his game. He is not a good major league player and has had very little seasoning. I think he is a hard worker but has not been allowed to gain confidence and mature.

Wow, This is pathetic. There is only three Reds that would contribute in the Cards organization, Votto, Chapman and Cueto. I am counting the line up, bull pen, starters, bench, coaching staff, front office, scouts, beer vendors, hot dog vendors and parking attendants. Sad but true.

I know of someone who might take issue with that.

Walking the bases loaded to get to Molina might be the dumbest decision in Price's career.

Absolutely the dumbest decision, ever. Walk a batter, then bring the biggest Red's killer to the plate to prove his point. Makes sense to me. Price has a left fielder that can't hit or catch. Pena at the plate can't catch a bouncing ball right to him to let the runner score, he can't hit either. Pro ball players that can't lay down a bunt when needed. Bruce not hitting and STILL getting out on stupid base running decisions. I thought these guys are pro's? Just plain sorry is what they are. Can't believe people pay their hard earned money to watch the adult version of the bad news bears. I quit watching tonights game at that time it was Votto 1 and SL 4. Cardinal players laughing at the Reds is Priceless, no pun intended. Chapman is the only reliever that can get anybody out. WOW!!!!

We know of at least one really hard working vendor!

No disrespect meant. Might have jumped the gun on that one. I have to admit that I have not really gotten my in depth scouting report on the beer vendors.

Walking the led handed hitting Jay to get to Molina was not a dumb decision. Sure it didn't work out as planned, but Cueto had made Molina look awful his last time up, it loaded the bases to se up the double play or a force at home, and Molina is a perfect double play candidate.

You have to do more than look at statistics. Any real Reds fan KNEW what Yadi was GOING to do. Got to have a feel for the game. DP up the middle against Jay and in at the corners. If he beats you, so be it. Cannot let Yadi do it. Awful (and I was screaming at the TV when Pena 1st put his arm out, so not MMQB).

Byrd slightly misplayed the prior ball, but that was a great pitch by Cueto. There are literally about 6 3' circles on the field where that ball can fall and not be a weak out. Happened to fall in 1 of those 6 circles. That's baseball. Cueto was outstanding but for a couple of pitches (including the high FB to Yadi)

Offense was awful other than Votto. Hamilton is befuddled and knows bunting is literally his best chance of getting on - unfortunately, other teams know that as well and don't have to worry about a screaming line drive off his bat, so they are cheating in. Phillips continues to hit the ball hard. Frazier is lost. Bruce is clueless. Bird is adrift. Pena is, at best, a serviceable backup. Cozart was actually a pleasant surprise last night.

Bottom Line - after Votto, you wonder how they might get on base / score until he comes back up again. With Pitcher and Hamilton batting in front of him 3/4 of the game, there is little hope.

Let's hope for a solid outing from Homer. Looks like we need it.

Throwing an inside fastball on the inside corner maybe the dumbest decision. You knew what he was going to do with that. something with a wrinkle on the first pitch or outside might have been a better choice.

There were runners on 2nd and 3rd with Jay up. They weren't turning a double play.

Reds getting smoked again today. Reds has some really dead bats in the lineup. This team looks no different than last year. Phillips and Bruce contracts may be two of the worst in Reds history. Bruce just can not seem to get the idea to bunt against the shift instead strikes out every time. He don't have to run that way!

George Grande always says get on, get over and get em in, and the Reds are absolutely the worst at that. Home Run or nothing especially when Hamilton does not get on base.
