Now I know the thought has crossed many a BBN fan out there that the NCAA has a conspiracy against John Calipari. Could there be some truth to that statement? There are a lot of Ky. haters out there especially with the way John Calipari has been able to assemble teams since his arrival on the Lexington basketball scene. I have a brother-in-law that hates him and when asked why he says and I quote, "John Calipari is ruining college basketball". My response to that is that he shouldn't blame Calipari but blame the NCAA and the NBA for the stupid "one and done rule". Is it his fault that he can recruit McDonalds all Americans and get them to play together?

 

I personally think that the NCAA does hate the fact that Calipari has been able to do this and every member of the NCAA board was probably rooting against Kentucky last night because of this. An undefeated season and national championship would have only cemented Calipari's ability to convince these all stars that they can co-exist on one team. I also feel that Kentucky's success will be the driving force in getting the "one and done" rule changed sooner than later.

 

I'm interested in hearing what others think and will just sit back and observe your thoughts. Let me preface the conversation by saying that I am a Kentucky fan, not a fanatic, but one that truly enjoys the fact that they are a contender every year for a championship. I was a fanatic when Pitino brought the program back from probation but eased up some when Tubby was the coach because I never felt he was recruiting the type of talent that it would take to win championships. Then we had the lean years before Calipari and we all know what it's been like since. I like Cal as a recruiter but I am not convinced that he is a great "x and o" guy and I knew what to expect when he arrived. I told those in my family who are still fanatics not to get too excited about the players Cal would bring in because most would not be here very long but that he would produce very good teams and he has. Now let's see what other have to say about this topic.

I always wonder in the back of my mind if money controls the outcome of games. I'm not prepared to make accusations but I often wonder about it. There have been some sketchy occurrences in the last few years.

The officiating was BAD but I don't think that can be called a conspiracy.

 

I did think the undefeated season was a pipe dream a few weeks back when I heard about how much money would be lost in Vegas if UK went 40-0.

UK lost. Someone has to be held accountable and it can't just be the other team played better...

If there was a UK Duke game tomorrow, the raitings would have been through the roof. So idk if I can put much stock into it

Anyone hear the comment that Barkley made after the game about social media and why he is not on twitter. I cannot remember the quote but it was pretty funny. Someone post if they remember the quote.

OMG.

Just stop. Cal's slowdown and refusal to go for the throat cost this team the victory. Flat out. 3 straight possessions of shot clock violations when we had them on the ropes. Had 3 tries on the one possession and could not close it out. This is not a conspiracy or on the refs. We were also exposed as a mediocre offensive team.We got beat fair and square.
