Big Bang could be disproved this year?

Large Hadron Collider: world?s most powerful particle collider may trump Big Bang theory ? The Cubic Lane

Large Hadron Collider, the world’s most powerful particle collider located in Switzerland and France, is set to carry out an experiment this week that could disprove the Big Bang theory. The last time this machine was operated, scientists were able to discover the Higgs Boson. Who knows what they can find this time around.

Miniature black holes that could eventually be detected by the Large Hadron Collider could provide the proof for the existence of parallel universes and ultimately show that the Big Bang was not scientifically feasible, the researchers believe.

Well this could be big!!!

I love this stuff, but I don't understand most of it. They could pretty much say anything and I am not smartt enough to agree or disagree.

Agree, wish they would say it in the Queens English so we can understand. It's kind of like how lawmakers write laws in incomprehensible legalese.:lol2:

I would get Discovery Magazine and other Science mags on flights when I traveled a lot. I would read the articles, the whole darn thing, and finish it and think to myself "what did I just read"? I read every word and was clueless. kept doing it, though. Figured some day I might get it. Nope did not happen. Anything with physics was way beyond me comprehending. Loved the medical/health stuff along with animal and brain articles. Usually, I could comprehend those.

Here's how out of the loop I am.

Is there a Small Hadron Collider. A Medium Hadron Collider?

Stop! You are scaring me!

JD, The link on your first post scares me too! When I keep clicking it, it keeps teleporting me to Atlanta! It keeps saying 404!

:lol2: Same.

Here's a little more of an "explain it to me like I'm a four year old" version...

The Big Bang: Are we in a "pics or it didn't happen" type situation? | The Guardian

Name: The Big Bang

Age: 13.8 billion years, or no age at all, because it didn’t happen.

Appearance: Big and bangy, or it doesn’t have an appearance, because it didn’t happen.

Thanks, but I still don't get it. I guess I cannot comprehend that there could be no origin that can be proved yet. That is just something my brain doesn't understand. If there are parallel universes, that explains a lot with my wife.

I wonder what the other me's in the parallel universes are doing right now? Could the rich me in those universes please teleport me some money? Please?

None of the articles I'm reading seem to be helping me understand. What is it that they're looking for, specifically? What is it about micro black holes that negates the idea of the Big Bang singularity? Will they study the Hawking radiation to see how much energy and mass are being emitted by the black hole and if the amount of total energy is not the same as when they started then they'll assume that the gravity has drifted into a parallel dimension? There are some serious leaps in these that I'm not following.
