Bowling Green 68 Boyle County 58 (Sweet 16 Semi-Finals)

Featured Replies

For me, it all comes down to depth and fatigue. Boyle had an emotional, comeback win over a rival from Lexington Catholic and a fast-paced win over the NO. 1 team in the state. Bowling Green beat the weakest team in the tournament by a million and had a slow-paced win over Calloway County. The Rebels just looked like a team with nothing left in the tanks.

I could not agree with you more. 6 guys all year long will only set you up for failure sooner or later. Same thing happened at the Lex Catholic tournament.

BG feasted in the paint. Bell was huge.

Honestly, the team I saw tonight was very similar to the team I saw against Lexington Catholic back in December. They just didn't have the legs to do it. And that's not to take anything at all away from Bowling Green. DG has them playing great basketball.

Good luck next year. Hopefully you get a transfer to equal out the experience.

Yeah and bitterness sets you up for failure sooner or later too.

Sounds like Tyler struggled a little bit. They needed him to produce a little more if they were to have won.

It was a great run by BC. Just not enough balance to get past BG.

A lot of shots were short and the BC energy level was just not there. For county schools with limited talent pools to draw from depth at the state tournment can be an issue.

Class move by Adams to get the rest of the team on the floor. Those kids may never get to

Rupp again an those 30 seconds will last a lifetime.

Word.

Jeremiah Bell has to be one of the best point guards in the state yet I've not heard muh about him all season. Maybe I just missed the discussion on him. Does the kid have any offers? He is silky smooth. I'm also very impressed by Hagen Tyler and although he had an up and down tournament that's bound to happen for a shooter of his caliber. Can't wait to see him suiting up for the Norse.

BG doubled up on BC on the boards! I think BG got about as many offfensive rebounds as the total for BC. It seems to be in vogue these days to "retreat" back to the defensive end after a shot is taken, conceding the rebound. Bowling Green demonstrated what offensive rebounding does for you. Also, BG's big men fully sprinted to the post every time, on both ends! That is the result of good, insistent coaching, which the players have bought into. Kyran Jones must be an exceptional young man being able to accept his role as coming off of the bench. I believe he has been the teams main producer during this tournament. There is probably great moral on the BG team. Jones, and the BG team demonstates patience, which beelies their youth. I hope the Owensboro Jones boy is healthy. But I really believe his side might start hurting again by trying to run with Jones and Taylor. Holman may be able to keep up, if he wants. The BG and OB guards are similar and should be interesting, but I see depth in the BG lineup.

My free unsolicited advice to young Mr Elkins.

Work on your offensive game. Develop a face-up game. Develop some go to (non dunk) moves.

Heckuva athlete but will need to really develop in the off-season to go to where the BC teams needs him next year.

The Berea College head coach was scouting Bell at the Lincoln/Boyle home game. That would be quite a catch for their program. He is really good and could probably go with Tyler to NKY.

Great win by BG - they looked like the better team from the start. Deangelo Wilson was impressive and took it aggressively to the rim all night. Kid can play.

Should be a good game tonight. I hope owensboro's injured big man is able to play so both teams are at full strength.
