Bowling Green 68 Boyle County 58 (Sweet 16 Semi-Finals)

Featured Replies

I could not agree with you more. 6 guys all year long will only set you up for failure sooner or later. Same thing happened at the Lex Catholic tournament.

Owensboro just won the Sweet 16 playing 6 people exclusively. Love that you support the WHOLE Boyle team though.......

So it's cool when we win but when we lose you have all the answers? Got it. :thumb:

By all means talk basketball. That's what we're here for aren't we? You're in favor of playing the whole team regardless. I'm all about playing the best players capable of performing at the level they are expected to play. Minutes are earned in practice. To me it's that simple.

I couldn't help myself but you're right. This is not rec league or MS. Playing time is earned.

I am late to the party and this will stir the pot with the issue about the debate of kids who transfer taking clock away from kids who are grew up in the school system. That is a long and complicated discussion that has merits both ways. I always think it becomes the coaches call and if they are supportive then the fan base either gets behind it or you basically cause a rift that doesn't do any good for anyone. By the time the decision has been made and the shipped has sailed you are better off backing the entire team, including the transfer who is taking minutes from the hometown kids.

It hurts if you are the player or the parent of one who sits due to it, but a coach should play the best players on the roster. In the case of Boyle County if Bell is not on the team it is open to debate whether they would have made it out of district, much less regional play. No knock on the rest of the team, but he formed part of the trio of superstar players that was without doubt the reason Boyle was so great this year. No Bell, no state tournament in my opinion.

Who knows? Who cares? It doesn't matter at the end of the day. Hagen Tyler ran the point last season. The way I see it Jeremiah took Clayton Ray's time after Clayton graduated. People say it's no knock to the rest of the team but ultimately it is. It doesn't matter what would have happened without Jeremiah, he was here, ruled eligible and we moved on and won as a team. End of discussion.

Word in Lexington last night was Murray is expressing interest.

Wow! It's a big step from Berea to NKY, and a big step from NKY to Murray! I made this quote in a earlier post:

He is really good and could probably go with Tyler to NKY.

I hope I wasn't misunderstood. I had not heard anything about him going to Northern with Tyler. I just thought an emerging div 1 program could use his diverse skill set. Murray State? You are talkin' big boys now! Their program signature has been outstanding guard play. I would love to sit in my recliner, from time to time, watching Jerimiah carry on the tradition. Murray has some great guards now, and you can watch them tonight: NIT Murray at Tulsa.

Yeah well I am proud to be a Rebel and I am proud of this team and the coaching staff. I'm grateful my son was able to play for 30 seconds and score a basket but I'd trade all that in for a chance the see the team play for a state championship today. Sometimes the other team is simply better. That's what happened last night. We had a great season and we have nothing to be ashamed of at all. I hope your bitterness fades one day. That's no way to go through life.

Sometimes the other team is simply - I applaud you for this thought. Too many Boyke County fans blamed every loss they had on something other than that. It was either they were tired or someone was sick. It is great to finally see the perspective that Boyle actually can be beaten for other reasons. They had one of those seasons that don't come around often and the fans should recognize that and just be happy. Sadly this board was full of Boyle County fans that didn't get that. While they had a nice team this year, I doubt it was the start of a 12th Region dynasty.

But congratulations on a great 2014-15 season!
