March 20, 201511 yr Bobby Hurley...yeah, I should stay away from this thread. Two names I am curious about the thoughts- any chance Larry Davis would consider or is that like mentioning Hurley? An out of the box suggestion- Bunky Harkleroad? Sacramento St. Women's head coach has won everywhere he has been and is a Berea College alumnus with ties to Kentucky- is that too crazy? I went to college with Bunky at Berea. I would love for him to have a shot at this job. His system is definately fun to watch and is exciting for both players and fans.
March 20, 201511 yr Whoever that asst was for UC Irvine today. We NEED that hair in Highland Heights. Here's a stretch. How about my guy at Cov Cath? Great presence, great ties to East Coast. Greg Paulus at Ohio State is getting close to being ready. He may take a job line NKU just to have his own program.
March 21, 201511 yr I have no clue. My question is how much $$ can NKU commit to the program? To get to the level to draw fans, they are going to have to be Xavier or UC good. I don't see it. The Horizon would be a great fit for NKU, another notch better league than they are now competing. Gotta find a Brad Stevens type in the woodwork somewhere. Everyone is looking for those guys. Quite frankly, like the D-1 talent in Kentucky, there just aren't many od those guys. They will have to compete with the EKU's, WKU's, Moreheads and Murrays to get the limited 2nd tier D1 level kids. There just not are that many. Beetle, Justice, Spalding, etc. are not playing at any of those schools. Verdict is still out on how they will do. Good get with Tyler from Boyle. though. When you cross the river you then compete with MAC schools for those kids. This is a tough gig for any coach. They could get really good and the majority of NKY fans will still support UK over them. My daughter went to Morehead and is just crazy about UK. I don't get it, but that is the way it is. There is a lot of that in the state.

Decent facilities, nice enough game day arena for a mid-major. I understood at the time, they draw well. Decent media coverage (certainly better than NKU will ever get) with the tri-cities area. And, I'd guess a decent (although congested) recruiting niche. Hope Brannen gets it, if his name is in the hat.
