March 19, 201511 yr NKU is looking for a new coach who do you think will be the new coach? I hope it is somebody that recruits kentucky kids.
March 19, 201511 yr Author Why? Don't you want a team that can actually win at the D-1 level? NKU would win with Ky kids!
March 19, 201511 yr NKU would win with Ky kids! No, no they wouldn't. Not the KY kids that would go to a school at NKU's level.
March 19, 201511 yr You can win with a few Kentucky kids but they are going to have to recruit nationally if they want to win anything at this level.
March 19, 201511 yr Author No, no they wouldn't. Not the KY kids that would go to a school at NKU's level. They have won with Kentucky kids in the past.
March 19, 201511 yr They have won with Kentucky kids in the past. :lol2: :lol2: You do realize they moved up to D-1 right? You are aware this happened?
March 19, 201511 yr I'll be stunned if it is not Messrs. Steele or Brannen. Brannen made 160k as an assistant, will NKU offer anything close to that number.
March 19, 201511 yr Brannen made 160k as an assistant, will NKU offer anything close to that number. Give him a house and company car w/ a base of $150k?
March 19, 201511 yr Brannen made 160k as an assistant' date=' will NKU offer anything close to that number.[/quote'] Yes
March 19, 201511 yr I hope they pick a coach not from this area. I believe a new perspective is needed and if a local guy is hired nothing will change. To place an emphasis on Ky recruiting is ridiculous because the talent is simply not there to compete nationally. It's going to be a revolving door with HC's and assistant's for the foreseeable future, so get use to starting a thread like this every couple of years. My pick would be Hurley from Buffalo.

What? He isn't going from the MAC DOWN to the A-Sun. What is your definition of a "local coach?"
March 19, 201511 yr Yea you're right, Buffalo is a hotbed for basketball and such a fine town. Lol! Why would he want to stay there? "local", anyone who would feel pressured to recruit local for the sake of recruiting local.

So you TRULY believe Hurley would entertain a call from an A Sun team who gets 1,500 people per game when he is already coaching a team in a larger, better conference in his home state and is IN the NCAA tourney? Come on.
