March 17, 201511 yr Doesn't hurt when your wife is worth ALOT of money and dad is willing to make that donation to get his son in law the gig....would love to see him get the job. NKU can be a good job with someone like him there. So who is this mystery guy?
March 17, 201511 yr Personally, I'd rather stay in the A-Sun, the weather is so much better and the competition is the same. The competition isn't close to the same. One is the 16th best league in America, one is the 30th. Who cares about the weather? You think Wright State is going to bring more fans (theirs and NKU's) than Kennesaw State? You think Valpo will generate more buzz locally than North Florida? The leagues are dramatically different, there is far less travel in the Horizon, and they would be competing with regional programs in and around their footprint. Sorry...didn't see all of the above posts on the topic before posting.

March 17, 201511 yr Thanks for taking over for a legend and getting us to D1, not get the bleep out. Par for the course for NKU.

Wont disagree, but why dont they work on winning in one of the worse conferences first before the entitlement kicks in that NKU deserves to be in a better conference.
March 17, 201511 yr Wont disagree, but why dont they work on winning in one of the worse conferences first before the entitlement kicks in that NKU deserves to be in a better conference. No one has said they deserve to be in a better conference. That should obviously be the goal for any low-major to mid-major conference school though....To move up in conference and competition. Seems like you have an axe to grind with NKU. :idunno:
March 17, 201511 yr Author Wont disagree, but why dont they work on winning in one of the worse conferences first before the entitlement kicks in that NKU deserves to be in a better conference. I wouldn't say entitlement. Even if the leagues were even, I'd think NKU would want to be in the Horizon because of travel expenses and the schools are more similar to NKU than Florida Gulf Coast and North Florida are. Plus, would it benefit the Horizon League to tap into the Greater Cincinnati market more?

One bad decision after another.

Moving on from Bezold was not a bad decision. Seems like a really nice, good guy. Coaching-wise, IMO, he's just "ehh"...

March 17, 201511 yr Author Don't disagree Horizon (logistically) is a better option, but thats not where they ended up. For now. Heck, they would have been in the OVC if the KY schools weren't scared and had the TN schools vote against them so it didn't look as bad.
March 17, 201511 yr For now. Heck, they would have been in the OVC if the KY schools weren't scared and had the TN schools vote against them so it didn't look as bad. If I remember correctly, wouldn't their facilities have been the best in the OVC as well? I think that also played a part in why the OVC wanted no part of them.
March 17, 201511 yr The competition is a little different. Valpo and Green Bay would destroy the Atlantic Sun. Conference RPI.... Horizon (16) vs. Atlantic Sun (30) Just for reference, the OVC is 25 I'm sure those teams would do well, but not destroy. Afterall Mercer beat Duke last year and Florida Gulf Coast went to the sweat 16 the year before.
