Ballard 67 Trinity 54 (7th Region Semifinals)

Featured Replies

Been that way all season long and anyone who has watched a game can attest to that. But the T faithful criticized me for saying such and said I was a disgruntled X refugee for having the same thoughts as everyone else in the state.

It isn't a phenomenon resererved for T. We had the same thing happen here up North.

Ballard doesn't have the same amount of talent, but they're arguably a better TEAM this season. While Perry tends to take, but make his share of tough shots, the pg Wilson makes them go, and he gets everyone else wide open shots and involved. As he showed last night, he can score when he needs to, but he brings a next level mentality to their team, and the others ride with him. Though they've had much more talent the past 2 years, they didn't necessarily play a team brand on defense or offense. It was simply outscore the other team with their studs taking turns. Now they're better defensively, and play together offensively. With Wilson distributing the ball, everyone seems more interested and focused on both ends, because they know they'll get it if open.

Only Ballard could lose Quentin Snider, Kelan Martin, and Malik Dow and yet somehow find a way to perhaps be even better.

That's a talent-producing machine out there.

Helps when a nice player like Eaves shows up.

No doubt... but somehow that player always seems to show up for Coach Renner. Absolute powerhouse.

People say Trinity has 4 D-1 recruits. I know Spalding (UL), West (Texas State) and Thieneman (Marshall). Who am I missing? Ramser is Bellarmine (D2) and Murphy is NYU (D3, I believe). Is it Levitch?

Ballard gets a lot of support for its basketball program, and rightly so. Basketball has been good at Ballard ever since the school started. They have had 3 great coaches there--- Richard Schmidt, Scott Davenport and Chris Renner ----along with a slew of great players.

It sure looked to me like Trinity didn't play with any passion outside of Ramser (16 points). They looked as though they really didn't care whether they won at all. Not much Senior leadership from what I could tell. Looks as though Ballard wanted it more the Trinity IMO.

What you highlighted is the problem. No reason he should shoot the majority of the shots.

I totally agree. Kinda makes me think that maybe committing to a college and doing the whole pomp and circumstance that goes with it should be done when the season is over....

How did Stafford play? Have not heard much about him this season surprisingly; considering he started for the Ville who won the national title. Im a big fan of his.

I was really high on Stafford last year (I felt like he was often their best player when I watched them) but it doesn't seem like he's had a huge impact this season.

I really want to get in on this but I'm going to refrain because I don't want to get banned for slamming fellow posters.

Everyone has opinions on what should have happened and you're entitled, regardless of how wrong you are.
