Look at it from a distance. I saw it as white and gold, then I stepped away and it became black and blue. Also if you cut off the top half I think it looks blue and black all the way. But when you add the top the whole thing looks white and gold. Really cool and weird at the same time.

 

OK...I've followed your suggestions and have looked at it from across the room.

 

Still pretty much gold and white.

 

There's a hint of a slight pale blue that I see from a distance that looks more white when close up, and the gold appears from a distance to be a little darker shade of gold, but still gold nonetheless.

 

I'm not doubting that different people are seeing it differently, but the question that begs to be asked at this point is.

 

Why?

 

This photo has obviously become a trending buzz all because of this one strange phenomenon, but at the end of the day what is going on here to create the one or the other responses to what the color of the dress is?

This morning I started seeing black and blue. My wife and I are both opposite of what we were last night. I'm jumping off the roof now.

I saw it twice on TV this morning & it was 100% black & blue. The picture in the 1st post is 100% gold & white.

I use three screens at work and this dress is a different shade on each screen I look at it from. Whatever color it is, the dress is ugly.

I see green and orange. Does that indicate a problem? And what dress? Isn't this a pants suit?

I don't understand how people see totally different colors than me.

 

I'm in the black and blue group.

They showed on the Today Show this morning that the true color of the dress is blue and black, and had an attractive British blonde woman modeling it for proof.

 

On her I indeed saw blue and black... in the photo I still haven't seen anything other than gold and white.
