Boyle barely avoids being upset in the 12th Region with a layup with 8 seconds left.

Heartbreaking loss to hear over the radio. Danville went up on two free throws from Woolridge with 16 seconds to go, but lost to a layup with 8 seconds left.

Incredible effort by Danville. Just more proof that tournament time is a whole new season. Anything can happen and every team is beatable.

I told myself with 2 minuets to go if Boyle found a way to win, they would be in Rupp Arena... and i firmly believe that. Post season wake up calls end up in season ending losses..... But in this game, they survived their wake up call and will be a tough out for ANYONE!

I thought Danville had a great game plan. Whoever Colton was guarding his man brought the ball up and went right at him, and got him in foul trouble. Danville has a quick team. But at the end too much Hagen and Jeremiah!

Props to Special Ed once again, he almost pulled the impossible

Tune into 102.9 for the post game recap. We are on live right now!!!!

Boyle has a tough road to hoe to get to Rupp. They will have to bring a lot more than they did tonight to win the 12th.

Props to Special Ed once again, he almost pulled the impossible

I've often thought Ed McKinney was one of the more underrated coaches in the region. He's definitely been the best basketball coach the Danville boys have had in the last fifteen or so years. I wish he had stuck with it in the early 2000s when he got Danville to the finals of the region in back-to-back years when they came within a few points of going to Rupp.

On the radio it seemed as if the crowd was very pro-Danville. Was that the case live or was the radio booth just set up where Danville fans were sitting?

Danville had a relatively small crowd. They were next to the Lincoln section. The Lincoln folks were cheering against Boyle at the end when it looked like Boyle would be upset. The broadcast was from the top of the Danville/Lincoln half of the gym. Boyle had a good crowd and a lot of students in beach attire who stormed the court after the final buzzer.

A tough loss for the Danville kids after they played so well. They made a couple turnovers in the last two minutes after going up 60-55 to let Boyle back in it, and there were no timeouts after Bell's layup put Boyle up with 9 seconds left. Danville's last possession was pretty out of control and they did not get a good shot off. The Boyle contingency is breathing a sigh of relief just to be moving on.

Danville played very confidently in this game. One would have thought that they would have folded when Boyle made that run early in the second quarter. Instead they steadied themselves and had a very good chance of winning this one. Two of my favorite coaches over the years are Ed McKinney and ex Rebel coach Ronnie Bottoms. I think both of those guys are classy and in their own unique ways extremely intense.
