I have never been on Sunday to this event. Planning on attending this year.

Is this really a business play or was there a complaint about something?

Someone blocking a high Roller view from the end zone seating?

Did the requests reach an outrageous number?

 

A sudden shift like this should include some sort of explanation.

 

My posts are meant to be straight down the middle as someone that has been on both sides of this issue. I don't know about any specifics at the BOKC.

I agree too, but to do that to me they had better enforce it on many others as well. BOK is in the drivers seat so they can and do set the rules.

Yep, and depending on who you are Covington Catholic either welcomes you with open arms and lets you in free or they draw up battle plans and fight you.

I've sent my request in for media credentials, still waiting for a response. Last year being at the scorers table was GREAT for updates, although it was 1st come 1st serve, and I got there 90 minutes before game time to get a prime spot.

 

I'm not looking forward to posting updates from the North endzone......terrible vantage point. I like Mustang's idea....open up one of the suites. Also, with the public wifi, last year I was constantly get ting knocked offline with the heavy usage. Need to put us on one of the "secured" lines.

What I do see is paNDA is an awesome dude that takes a gazillion photos of local athletes and posts them for free. There are probably hundreds of families that would stand up for paNDA, his integrity, his work, and him as a person.

 

If it wasn't for paNDA I would have ZERO pictures of the original Daddy's Little Girl during her 4 years of HS softball, and I've let him know that....I am truly thankful for what he does. :ylsuper:

 

 

I understand Pandas frustration and can empathize with the situation. I too am a camera hack who gives selflessly for others on a hs fb page and unwillingly dropped $185 to the khsaa to capture the Dixie Heights-Trinity State Championship game. Wasn't going to not be on the field for the kids and their families benefit.

 

Love of the game and the kids > bureaucracy-$$$

With the rules there is no scenario I can be on the floor shooting. Has nothing to do with money. I love the game, the players, the coaches and the parents. Just a square peg in a world of round holes.

Tuesday and Wednesday we broadcast uninterrupted for the first time in years from the Campbell County Middle School. Mark is able to get out of the BOKC with equally successful results.

I went to NKU for a year of graduate school and transferred out ASAP despite being Dean's List and my credits not transferring.

 

Based on my time there, I'll leave it at saying I'm typically more surprised if NKU does something right.

The change is rather simple, if you are not media you can sit in the stands and take pictures like anyone else. Previous years schools assigned people like me to represent them on the floor and get shots that find there way into year books etc. Not allowing that this year.

I understand the pro/cons on photographers.

 

However, while I have no dog in this fight, it frustrates me that they move the broadcast media that has covered their team's games throughout the season, or general broadcasters such as Northern Kentucy Sports.com or Tri-State Internet sports off of press row and to a totally unacceptable position in the North endzone. It is my opinion that a venue intending to showcase local high school and college sporting events, should also be held accountable to provide comparable media coverage space at their venue. This obviously doesn't exist at the BOKC.

 

I TOTALLY agree that there is presently insufficient space on what is now press row, and that a competition of sorts, as referred to by Lawnboy, exists among broadcasters.

 

My 100% point is that the problem exists within the facility, that no media space, which is provided at other area venues and throughout other college venues opposite the scorers table and team benches, or via press boxes, exists at the BOKC. This has been an issue since the facility was built and has not been rectified, nor apparently has there been any effort made to rectify the situation.

 

The "we can't accomodate you, therefore you are being herded into the endzone" doesn't fly.

 

As stated, they have the upcoming 2016 Girls KHSAA Sweet Sixteen Tournament coming to the BOKC next March. Most schools outside of Northern Kentucky have local radio station coverage, and will request broadcast space. Either floor, or pressbox space will need to be provided. At present SMG/BOKC are demonstrating that they cannot even handle the local internet media which do cover local schools. The problem lies with the BOKC and not the school/community affiliated broadcast outlets.

 

Am I the only one that is concerned about this?????
