BOKC Why I won't be at the Regional tourney shooting photos!

I'm not too familiar with photography, so I apologize if this is a dumb question, but why do you need floor access to take pictures? With the cameras these days, you should be able to get great pictures from the seats I would think.

I think it is a matter of perspective. And on the floor/field you can put yourself in position for the best possible shots.

On field/floor photos always appear superior to others in my opinion.

Help me out, im struggling to see the issue here???

I don't know that there is an issue here.

What I do see is paNDA is an awesome dude that takes a gazillion photos of local athletes and posts them for free. There are probably hundreds of families that would stand up for paNDA, his integrity, his work, and him as a person.

However... the BOKC is in business and sometimes in business you have to make tough decisions and unfortunately paNDA is collateral damage.

Guru, could I change my name to Collateral paNDA! I kind of like the ring it has.

No but anyone is welcome to have more than one account.

I cover sports for the Gallatin County News. When I go to Henry County and Carroll County next week for the regionals, I show them press pass and I get in. I always got in at Ryle, Conner, and Holmes in the past. But I can't get into the BOKC.

Small venues are pretty much on the honor system but bigger venues have to organize and control the media.

Of course not, why would we want to cover something after following it the entire season (4 and 5 nights a week). Silly us.

As to the bolded, I never inferred otherwise.

I guess I'm just trying to understand why a non-media member should be given access to the floor?

With all due respect to paNDA, they shouldn't.

You see the problem is at the BOK you are not allowed in the stands with a long lens. I started that way and was told to put my camera away about 8 years ago. Was told I needed to get a pass to get on the floor to photograph. Got a school to give me a pass for the floor and now they say I can not do that. I can now apply for each game to shoot from the stands if i submit a media request which I cannot do since I am not affiliated with media. So I give up. To shoot from the stands you have to pay per game. Quite simple

Is this really a business play or was there a complaint about something?

Someone blocking a high Roller view from the end zone seating?

Did the requests reach an outrageous number?

A sudden shift like this should include some sort of explanation.
