Cleveland anchor uses racial slur to describe Lady Gaga's Oscar act

I had to look that one up. That's crazy as hell. :lol2: :lol2:

Apparently his role in the show was dropped because the producers found out that there weren't any black doctors in Korea. :lol2: :lol2:

It's amazing and sad the things blacks/women had to do in order to have a chance in Hollywood.

This character was in the original movie. He was brought in for the big football game as a "ringer." When they started the tv series they tried to keep as many of the numerous characters as they could but couldn't find a way to keep their personalities alive and part of the story.

I had to look the word up.

I would venture to say if you can't believe she was unaware of what the word meant, you're probably 45 (give or take)+.

Cut her some slack.

Will do. As long as my kids are cut the same slack when they say stupid, ignorant racist things. Since they are under 45...give or take.

Just going by what my research found. Given his character name and the background of Hollywood along with the background of Mash......I tend to side more with what I found.

Come on, guys. She didn't randomly come up with the word without ever hearing it. Someone said it and it was not said in a positive light. If you want to say she screwed up and used the word by accident as she was on the spot, fine. To say she didn't know the meaning of the word or, at the very least, didn't know it had a negative connotation seems impossible to me.

Like I said, can someone use that word in a positive manner in a sentence? Please, give an example.

It's the new bubbled society we live in, Crash. Where blatant racism is excused and we grin, bear it and move on.

It was an obvious racist statement. I do not think her intent was racism with the remark, if that makes sense. If it was, then this girl has bigger cajones than anyone on earth.

I've known what the word was since I was a little girl. One of the non-benefits of having an uncle who lived in Mississippi. I've heard them all unfortunately.

And I thought after I saw Dwayne Wayne (or Edge) playing a dad who is a spy, whose daughter is also a spy, on the Disney Channel (of all places) that we were past this. Apparently, not.

You're being absurd.

Intentions matter.

Yeah, I'm learning that in 2015 you can say racist things but if the intent wasn't to be racist then it's all good homey. Humor me though, what was the point of her saying the word all by itself after she described the music? I mean, seriously.....after she described the music she simply uttered the word for no apparent reason. Duly noted though, I will teach my kids that as long as they can manage to look stupid when saying stupid, ignorant things then they should be given a pass like everyone else. I don't make the rules in this world, just trying to get by......

I doubt most on here know what swag, twerk, YOLO, or selfie means unless they have young children/grandchildren who brought it to their attention.

Some people may not have had parents/grandparents to introduce them to certain words because the parents didn't see any need for an introduction.

I hope any child does NOT get the same treatment for saying/doing something stupid when it wasn't their intention to hurt or offend anyone.

I was thinking the same thing. I have a son that often says things that don't make sense, or he repeats phrases he hears and then later uses them out of context. I sure hope that he is given the benefit of the doubt if he unintentionally utters a racial slur.

So you aren't going to answer my question.

How does anyone unintentionally utter a racial slur? That's what I don't understand. You have to hear it some how, some way from some one who used it. No one unintentionally utters racial slurs. That's not possible.
