February 23, 201511 yr If the ball hits homeboy anywhere but in the face then it's a non-issue. I pay very little attention to UL except when they play Duke and I know little about Harrell but I also refuse to believe that in that play he purposely was trying hit dude in the face. I think he thought he was close to being out of bounds and threw the ball at homeboy and it hit dude in the face. I agree with you, but he did hit him in the face, so it is an issue, which is why I think they got the call right. If Jorts fired a fast ball off Sullinger's noggin, I might say the same about that play too. I like Harrell but I personally think he knew where he was on the court. Play seemed Dennis Rodmanish (and I loved Dennis Rodman too haha)
February 23, 201511 yr The defending of Harrell by UL fans is pretty funny on social media. Fun to watch those with nothing to support their claims still go and defend him. I do also enjoy on here trying to compare what Harrell did to what Jorts did. They conveniently forget that Jorts was falling out of bounds as well as didn't hit the player in the face.

I think they were both great plays. Jorts was falling out of bounds and Montrezl thought he was coming down out of bounds.

February 23, 201511 yr Author I think they were both great plays. Jorts was falling out of bounds and Montrezl thought he was coming down out of bounds. He could have went up for a layup. I don't know if he did it on purpose or not but it didn't look good IMO. It wasn't that big of a deal but to keep things from escalating I can see why the flagrant was issued.

I understand the call and don't have a problem with it, but I also don't have a problem with him throwing the ball at a player standing out of bounds.
February 23, 201511 yr No idea why Harrell was given a flagrant or a technical, or whatever it was he was given. It seemed pretty obvious he got lost in terms of where he was on the court and thought he was coming down near the end line. Sucks that it hit the kid in the face, but definitely didn't see it as malicious or done with ill-intent. Oh well, I guess some UK fans just need to be bashing UofL for something at all times.
February 23, 201511 yr Could you help me out. I can not recall Cousins ever being suspended while he was at UK for on court issues. Would you mind refreshing my memory? I am sure you are correct, I just need some help with this. I don't know if he was or not. But I do remember Cousins throwing an elbow to a UofL players head. Punk move according to your definition.

February 23, 201511 yr Your dismissal of what happened is ignorant. The word thug, is defined as a person who is violent. What your buddy "Trezyll" did, had nothing to do with the game and had everything to do with him losing his cool. There is a pattern here. What he did was worse than punching a player. How did I miss "the intent" of your post? How have I dismissed what happened? If you think Montrezl Harrell is a thug, I promise you don't want to meet any real thugs. You would need a change of shorts in a second. Again, using that term to describe an athlete, especially for something like this is ignorant. No other way to slice it.
February 23, 201511 yr PG is a lot like QB. The offense should move better with Jones in the game, he is who is been playing the majority of the minutes. Only way for that chemistry to be present when Q is in the game is for him to play. I'm not saying Jones is the only problem, but you gotta put your best players on the floor, especially when a team is as challenged offensively as UL is this year. Apparently the negatives now outweigh the positives with Jones. I thought the game on Saturday and ultimate dismissal of Jones the next day was a microcosm of the season for UL. UL has some decent parts, but are devoid of any type of a leadership presence. From suspensions, dismissals, to stripping of captain labels, Rick just isn't able to find the formula or pinpoint said leadership. And it does not appear to be there. No calming presence like a Hancock or Siva to turn to. Just my 2 cents, but Blackshear and Jones do not seem like the brightest of bulbs. Maybe they are, but they sure fool me. Those are your two seniors. So Rick turns to Harrell to feel that leadership hole. Similar to how I feel WCS is, I just see Harrell as a great athlete, not necessarily a great basketball player. An ancillary part to a cohesive unit, not the binding agent. He strives more in delivering energy to a team, not being the soul source of it and being the team leader. You can't have your go-to, #1 guy be that over-hyped-up. Harrell allows his emotions to carry his game, not the other way around.
February 23, 201511 yr As for the throw the face, it was a dumb play. I don't think there was malice intent, but I can see where the refs had their hands tied to make some kind of call. It was excessive, but not intentional. Had they thought as such he would have been ejected. I liken it to someone swinging an elbow and catching someone unintentionally.

February 23, 201511 yr I don't know if he was or not. But I do remember Cousins throwing an elbow to a UofL players head. Punk move according to your definition. While they were rolling on the ground wrestling after a ball and it was not even called a foul. So we are going to compare rolling on the ground wrestling for a jump ball and what Harrell has done on several occasions this year. Sorry, no comparison and as I thought, but I wasn't sure and wanted you to have a chance to bring me evidence of actions that got him suspended by either the team, NCAA or SEC while he was at UK. So it is ok to invent stories about a former UK player to try and put him and coach Cal in the same position as Harrell and Pitino. If we could hashtag on here I think it would be something like this #Fail
February 23, 201511 yr I think they were both great plays. Jorts was falling out of bounds and Montrezl thought he was coming down out of bounds. So you are convinced that Harrell who went straight up for the ball had no idea where he was on the court? I can't buy that one. If he was so sure he was coming down out of bounds and fired the ball at the opponents head who was clearly closer to the out of bounds line than Harrell then once it hits the other player it would have been automatically called out of bounds as the player was standing on the ground. If that was the case then why did Harrell act as if the ball was still in play? He knew where he was and knew he wasn't out of bounds.
