RoyalWildcat Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Who do you expect to be the 10th Region player of the year and coach of the year?
JesusShuttlesworth Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I think the obvious pick for COY is Chris O'Hearn at Mason County. But I would throw Brad Carr's name in from Scott. Though they've had some bad loss's this year, Scott only plays about 6-7 kids and have been without Schneider in double digit games this season I believe. Player of the year comes down to Dorian Henry of Mason County, and Austin Crawford of Bracken County. Either would be very well deserving.
LCDAWGS19 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Jason Hinson should be in COY discussion as well. Dorian Henry is POY. call the engraver.
BirdBrain Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Jason Hinson should be in COY discussion as well. Dorian Henry is POY. call the engraver. Agreed, however....not sure Jason is going to get the love that he deserves this year, mostly because you have to know the entire history to understand where he is. I think he did good things with what he had, but....is an All A Regional Title worthy by the standard for COY ? Not sure... Couldn't agree more with Henry comment...I have said all along I thought he was undervalued overall in POY discussions
fan1620 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I believe Henry will win POY Brad Carr from Scott will win COY
RoyalWildcat Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Keaton Belcher has to be in the conversation as Coach of the Year, not sure Brad Carr will get it due to the bad losses and the success Scott has had so far. So IMO it's between Coach Belcher and Coach O'Hearn.
AndOneDad Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Dorian Henry POY without a doubt......not even a 1 A option IMO. Jason Hinson should be COY although I'm afraid that won't happen with the loss of Snapp for the post season. Keaton Belcher has done a terrific job at PC in turning that program around and should also be considered. I'd also consider Coach Humphries at CC as I think he's a done a great job of Coaching this year as well.......
mcpapa Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 COY = regional tournament winner? I thought that was an automatic.
All Blue Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 If it's all a about wins and losses then it's Henry and Ohearn, at the moment.
AndOneDad Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 COY = regional tournament winner? I thought that was an automatic. A very reasonable concept and I'd agree but I'm fairly certain this voting takes place prior to the Regional Tournament.
AndOneDad Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 If it's all a about wins and losses then it's Henry and Ohearn, at the moment. IMO it should always be about the "most extraordinary" performer in either category. However, with that said, and in addition, I don't think you can have either from a team that's .500 or below in the W/L column.......
mcpapa Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 A very reasonable concept and I'd agree but I'm fairly certain this voting takes place prior to the Regional Tournament. Good deal. I thought that it was a given that the regional tourney winner got the nod. In no particular order, then, I will go with Chris O'Hearn, Matt Daniel, Jason Hinson, Scott Humphrey and Keaton Belcher. The MoCo coach hasn't gotten much love so far but look at what he lost from last year and look where he has the Indians - #1 seed in the 40th. Dorian Henry should be a lock for POY. No telling where the Royals are without him.
Danny Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 POY is Henry.........COY is the Harrison County coach for enduring The Jenkins Fiasco...
davewlex Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 POY is Henry.........COY is the Harrison County coach for enduring The Jenkins Fiasco... ...
davewlex Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I can't believe no one is talking about Thompson. I think it's gonna be between he and Henry, but I'm thinking Thompson stands out a little more.
