Little League strips Jackie Robinson West of US Title

Doesn't LL have some kind of mercy rule?

I think it's after a certain inning is complete. But this is a horrible landslide. Coach should have told the kids when they started to get a lead in the mid 20's to just strike out to end the inning and the game.

The guy who complained got beat by them 43-2 so there was a real sour grapes feel to his complaining. He waited until he got beat to complain instead of addressing it beforehand. He's been complaining to anyone and everyone since his team got beat.

I didn't know the back story, sounds very plausible. But the story I read, the guy making the biggest noise said the boundaries were redrawn without his and some others knowledge at the beginning of the season. Who knows what the real truth is.

I would have a hard time telling my players to EVER strike out on purpose. Back to the thread topic...

Three innings I think is the limit. I may be wrong on this and it might be four. Either way, they were putting up a ton of runs in the first couple innings.

Kids playing out of their district is common. A local area team that won a state title just a few years ago had at least 2-3 players that should have been playing in another district.

Probably a mixture of it all.

I think in Little League it is 10 runs after 5 innings.

And here goes the rants from Chicago.

Jackie Robinson West, city reel at loss of team's title

That's a pretty good article.

Some truths and some misconceptions as well. I don't think the investigation was racially fueled I think it was sore loser fueled by little buddy that lost 43-2.

Of course Jesse Jackson had to say something.

Was traveling this morning and flipping through XM stations. Stopped on CNN and they were talking about this. Had one of the parents on as well as Jesse Jackson. The parent said it's clear there is a different set of rules for blacks and there always is when blacks succeed. Jackson said there would be lawsuits coming.

That has always been the general belief in the black community. In some cases it is true. I'll also add that blacks feel held to a higher standard when that success is achieved as well.

I don't think it is true in this case but I can see how it will be perceived as such. As I stated earlier I feel like this is more sore loser related than anything else.

I accidentally edited out the lawsuits part of your post but IMO lawsuits over this is really stupid. Those statements by Jesse Jackson is why noone can pay attention to him. Lawsuits? Really?:lol2:

Obama already released a statement. It said nothing of the sort.

I actually think we would have found out earlier if this was in the white community.

I think so too. I think people didn't want to have to do this because of the racial implications. It had to be done though. No way around it.
