February 3, 201511 yr Didn't see a thread on it, if it is, it's buried. 4/12/2015 is new season starting. Ill post the trailer in the next post. PUMPED
February 3, 201511 yr I'm excited, but a little leery as well. A lot of the storylines are going to pass up the books this season. Not sure I want to see that.
February 4, 201511 yr Author GRRM is to blame on that. Doesn't bother me as much any more. I've already given up on the books and put them out of my head for a while.
February 4, 201511 yr I'm excited, but a little leery as well. A lot of the storylines are going to pass up the books this season. Not sure I want to see that. I've tried reading the books, and I just can't get through them. It took me a month to read even half of the first one. So I guess I'm not that concerned. I've got a few weeks vacation coming up this summer and I'm going to give the books one last shot.
February 4, 201511 yr Really looking forward to this. I watched most of the first season before I read the books so I'm king of looking forward to being surprised again. I was kind of let down that I didn't feel the surprise that people who hadn't read the books felt at the Red Wedding for example.
February 4, 201511 yr To no surprise, the publisher has confirmed Winds of Winter will not be published in 2015. George RR Martin's The Winds of Winter will not be released until at least 2016, says publisher - News - Books - The Independent
February 5, 201511 yr Can't wait until April 12th. As a fan of the books and the show I'm interested to see where they go with it from here.
February 6, 201511 yr To no surprise, the publisher has confirmed Winds of Winter will not be published in 2015. George RR Martin's The Winds of Winter will not be released until at least 2016, says publisher - News - Books - The Independent GRRM's response: I certainly hope that THE WINDS OF WINTER is not on the schedule of ANY of my publishers. I have spent years > trying to persuade them all not to schedule my books until they are completed and delivered. Scheduling, and then having to reschedule and postpone, just [filter] people off. I'd rather not schedule at all until the date is real and certain. This flies against standard publishing practice, however, so it's a battle that I do not always win. Doesn't really mean much, but at least the fact his book isn't on the schedule doesn't completely upend the notion it could be finished this year.

Condescending arrogant jerk, and coming from me that is saying something.
February 16, 201511 yr Martin said in a recent interview that characters die in season 5 that are still alive in the books. I'm beginning to think the show is about to become a train-wreck. Hope I'm wrong.

Hope I'm wrong. I don't read the books so that really doesn't bother me. I want them to be a little different, so one day when I get motivated enough I'll read the books.
February 16, 201511 yr Love the books; but have never watched one minute of the TV show. Someday I'll get around to it.
