Fantastic game. Murray is the real deal. Our girls played with such focus and poise this weekend. Congrats to NCC as well! Basketball is alive and well in Northern KY.

Did this tournament cause you physical pain? Did it make you lose any skin off your back? If not, why do you care? Go get your school involved in a tourney and brag on them awhile.

Whoa. I said congrats. And it was exciting. A nice win in one of the biggest (from a participation standpoint) invitational tournaments around. Some like to call it a "State Championship". It's not.

I'll take any tournament that features a championship game that pairs a 19-3 team with a 22-2 one for state bragging rights.

3 Championships for 9th in last 10 months.

It is a state championship. Maybe not in you eyes but for all the schools that participate across the state it is.

WOW!! Congrats the Holy Cross! You girls have proved yourselves these last couple weeks!! The 9th region does have its hands full! Great talent there!

Also it's not an invitational. Teams have to win a regional championship to qualify (the only championship some of the teams will ever have a chance to win). It creates a somewhat level playing field and a team has to win 6-7 games to be champion. Granted some of the games are blowouts, but those occur in the bigger tourneys as well. Does anybody discount Highlands' and Bowling Green's football championships since they didn't play against Trinity/St X in the championship game?
