You Have To Ask Lynch One Question

Featured Replies

I'm curious, is it part of their CBA or some other written contractual agreement that he has to be there and answer questions?

CBA, IIRC.

As far as I know, the only contractual agreement is that they make themselves available to the media, which is to say they simply have to show up.

CBA, IIRC.

That would make sense because I can't see how they could legally fine him otherwise.

Why should he have to answer questions if he doesn't want to?

Why does the media feel they're entitled to answers to what are almost always stupid questions?

Its part of what happens when you make it to the Super Bowl. If he doesnt want to answer questions then he shouldnt be on the team.

He is only doing it for attention and being a total jerk. He should be fined for making his team look bad.

NFLPA is going to bat for Lynch on this, as they should. If nothing else, it's going to set a dangerous precedent if the NFL starts fining players based on the content of their answers.

I think it's pretty obvious that Lynch has some anxiety issues when it comes to speaking to the press, and the NFL isn't really helping. If he says something stupid then he gets lit up in the media and possibly fined by the NFL. Say nothing and the media lights him up for it and he gets fined.

He obviously doesn't like giving interviews and I don't know what forcing him to do them does to change that. I understand the NFL doesn't want to make exceptions because it becomes a thing where more people start opting out and hurting bottom lines, but this whole Lynch/NFL thing is just to the point of ridiculousness now.

You didn't answer my questions.

James Harrison isn't too far removed from how Marshawn is acting. He wasn't exactly chatty with the media either.

People don't like Richard Sherman because he talks too much and says what he wants in interviews, and people don't like Marshawn Lynch because he doesn't talk enough and gives short answers in interviews. :lol2:

I don't have a dislike for either one of them. I just believe he's being a baby.

Why? Because its part of his obligation to the team, as being at the biggest game in Pro Sports.

The media is entitled, how much money do they pay the NFL, billions. So I guess there are a billion plus reasons why they feel entitled.

Wrong. He's obligated to be available for the media. Which he is.

Why should he be forced to talk to the media?

The same reason you are forced to do things at work you don't wanna do. It's your job and you are expected to do it to the best of your abilities. He most certainly isn't doing that. He's a child.

His job is not to talk to the media. His job is to perform on the field. The only thing his job requires him to do is to show up and be available. He does that.

If you guys are seriously advocating that the league dictate how he answers questions, then what's the point of having player interviews at all. Just ask the league for the answer to your questions.

It is his job. He is required as an NFL player to speak to the media. I don't really care how he answers the questions but he just comes off as childish and immature. Just give them some stupid PC answer like everyone does 98% of the time.

No he's not. He is required to show up and be available. He is not required as an NFL player to give actual answers to any question they ask.
