February 1, 201511 yr After the first incident, no I dont believe they need to be charged in order to be dismissed from the university. In fact, I thought they should have been dismissed over the last incident. So you are ok with EKU dismissing Scurry? Also under age, also drinking, also involved in an altercation and also has a prior incident. How many students would schools expell for misdemeanors such as last summer's incident?
February 1, 201511 yr So you are ok with EKU dismissing Scurry? Also under age, also drinking, also involved in an altercation and also has a prior incident. How many students would schools expell for misdemeanors such as last summer's incident? Yep no issue with it.
February 1, 201511 yr After the first incident, no I dont believe they need to be charged in order to be dismissed from the university. In fact, I thought they should have been dismissed over the last incident. Cool. As long as you're consistent no one can really take offense to your belief. I've already stated I'm much more lenient than the average person when it comes to cases like these.
February 1, 201511 yr How so? I think he means by the sheer amount of underage drinking that takes place among college students.
February 1, 201511 yr Here is my take on the entire situation and what I feel should be done at the minimum. I will preface this with the fact that I am a huge Drew Barker fan and an even bigger fan of his father. With that said, no one can dispute that Drew has made some bad decisions that has given the program a black eye with some of the situations Drew and Dorian have found themselves in over the past 12 months. Not even referencing the fight itself as no one currently knows all the facts surrounding the incident but is more marred in speculation. With the prior incident that these players found themselves involved in which caused their suspensions during last season and now being at a bar while still being underage. Yes a lot of college students also do this, but a lot are not on full ride scholarships representing their universities and athletic programs. For this the players should at least be suspended a couple games to start the season for being multiple offenders. This has nothing to do with the altercation at all and more discipline should be open depending on what facts come out on the subject. For the very least these kids need to learn they represent more than just themselves, but the University as well and they are to set examples for not only their peers and teammates but also younger kids who look up to them and would like to follow in their footsteps. This isn't just a mark on the program but also reflects whether you believe it or not, on their previous schools. Does anyone really think Dixie Heights HS is proud of what Zeke Pike has accomplished since graduation? These boys whether they like it or not, are looked up to and we would much rather brag about their accomplishments in the end than to hide from their off the field incidents. I like this post and will add to it by saying that QB's(especially) in all levels of football are supposed to be the leader, captain, etc and set the example(whether they like it or not) and not be a follower. At this point Mr. Barker seems to be a follower(of bad judgement) or and this hasn't been brought up on here, but maybe he is the leader and these other guys are getting in trouble by keeping company with him. Being of their age is a slippery slope and I believe in second chances, but how about the 99% of the team that are towing the line, know right from wrong, etc. It isn't that hard people.

February 1, 201511 yr I bet they were speeding in the way to Richmand as well. I bet they order water at McDonalds and put coke in it instead.

February 1, 201511 yr I feel like some people either have no clue about what goes on in college or they simply have an agenda. It's amazing that Barker is one we know was assaulted but people want to make his part of this situation the whole story and also expell Drew as a result. It ruins the whole conversation for me. It's amazing that Barker is the one we know got knocked out but people want to make his part of this situation the whole story and also expell Drew as a result. It ruins the whole conversation for me. Drew did not get knocked out.
