Highlands 2015

Featured Replies

How many days of tryouts have they had? The snow the week of 2/15 probably slowed things down quite a bit.

On top of that, sometimes tryouts can go on for 2-3 weeks so the coach can ensure he makes the right decisions.

In addition, Coach B could be waiting for a day like tomorrow (warm weather) so he can get the team out to the football field and see them throw the ball real distances (key for outfielders). Right now it's not really fair to outfielders if they are judged for their showing in an enclosed space. You can grade infielders inside since their drills don't need a lot of space but you can't get a true read on an OF without seeing them cut a ball off in the gap, throw to a base, etc.

You can if you know what you already have in your program. The tough decisions are not who does or does not make the team, the tough decisions are who plays Varsity, JV and Frosh.

Are tryouts over?

Roster...anyone???

A serious question...

With so many kids interested in playing baseball at Highlands these days I wonder why they wouldn't have two Varsity teams...?

Man you want to talk about having an advantage in the end, sorta like the Bigs and then a Triple A team...really wouldn't be that hard if you think about it...:thumb:

Then I could get two Rosters...

No way that would work at the varsity level. Highlands would have to count every game they play against a varsity opponent. They would reach the limit quickly if they had two varsity teams. Even if they tried it at the lower levels they would still have to count all games played. Financially it would be tough to

Is that a KHSAA thingy? I know over in the GCL they have schools with two Varsity teams...

If this was the best thing for the kids then this would be a mute issue imo...You will have a hard time selling this one to ole Sweep...:thumb:

KHSAA game limit would have games from two varsity teams count towards the limit.

So he is saying you are wrong

Guessing Sweep's "sooooooooo" was for a "roster" and not towards the previous post.

Just sayin!
