I started to text some guys and ask them what their school policy is like .....but when you read the text to ask the question, it looks like I am trying to figure out a way to get free stuff, I will wait until I see some of the guys in person.

I'm not giving my freedom up for any man. Especially if I did nothing wrong. That's just silly.

Given that the punishment is likely to be a slap on the wrist, and that he is a participant in the whole scheme, I think he probably did what a lot of us would do and keep our mouth shut.

I have a hard time believing LSU keeps records of who they gave gloves to and I don't believe they are required to turn them in after the game. The cleats maybe a little more record keeping on those I suppose?

If their records are indeed that accurate, they should know who gave him the stuff.

Yes. Generally jail comes before prison though. I guess its different in different states.

I doubt any money was exchanged in the institution of the lease. It's simply an agreement not to sell LSU's equipment.

 

Do they do it at other institutions? What's the policy at Ohio State, Alabama, or UK? Probably the same, though it may not be called a lease.

BTW, when the items were sold, the lease was broken. When the lease was broken, the equipment became stolen property. It's no different than when you go lease/rent a power tool from Home Depot. If you sell the tool or give it to someone else to sell it for you, you've stolen that tool. Same same.

 

Theft is theft. Crime is crime. If the value of the property is that which warrants a felony, the clerk should be charged with a felony.

 

NCAA rules have nothing to do with this. It's basically between LSU and the person who sold their equipment without having ownership of it.
