I guess it would depend if Georgia reported the item as stolen. The police are investigating this for some reason. I'm sure they're not doing it for the NCAA.

So, when LSU gives a player gloves, cleats, sweat pants and hoodies they expect those to be returned? If that news gets out that will hurt recruiting...no way is that considered receiving stolen property, a lot of players families in the country are walking around wearing stolen property.

So he was given stuff by an LSU player that was signed and he refused to say who it was so the person that gave him the stuff doesn't get in trouble and that's ignorant? I have a hard time believing LSU keeps records of who they gave gloves to and I don't believe they are required to turn them in after the game. The cleats maybe a little more record keeping on those I suppose?

If their records are indeed that accurate, they should know who gave him the stuff.

This definitely begs the question of who is worthy of going to jail for. I'm not saying I would do what he did but I definitely respect what he did and I admire the fact that he's not going to flip on the player to save himself. At the same time if you know you did nothing wrong wouldn't you be fighting that anyways? IMO the fan has a valid point that I am interested in seeing how it plays out.

After seeing what some LSU players are capable of, and knowing how crazy people from Louisiana can be, I'm not sure looking over my shoulder for ratting out someone on something that I was involved in as well is preferable to what he's essentially facing here. I'm going to guess that an arrest and being bailed out quickly is basically the end game. Doing so also means that he's probably in the good graces of a lot of people, some of which I don't really think I'd want to be angry with me.

His arrest should be public record. I'm sure somebody has the time to look it up, and see what he was charged with by the police.
