5 worst and best Radio Guys in Cincinnati Sports

Featured Replies

No I don't care that he criticizes poor play or decision making, he just seems to have lost interest in what he's doing. A radio Broadcaster needs to paint a picture of what's happening, not just droll on with commentary over and over.

I love Marty, he just isn't as good as he used to be. Seems to be too wrapped up in being Marty.

Yep. He's become a caricature of himself IMO.

Why is everyone out to get Collinsworth, what did I miss?

Gotta agree.

Wow. I was going to post the exact same thing.

Why is everyone out to get Collinsworth, what did I miss?

Ugh, no one mentioned him????

I would rather listen to Delilah talk about relationships, while getting my fingernails pulled out with vice-grips, than to listen to Chick Ludwig on a daily basis.

The absolute worst...

The absolute worst...

Dreadful

Dan is fantastic and one of the most respected play by play guys in the business. To think otherwise say much more about you than him...

Not to mention an incredibly personable guy. I always enjoy talking to him.

As for the Chickster.......ouch. 1360 can't find a person to scratch their fingers on a chalk board for 3 hours on Monday morning? That would be a GREAT improvement.

Growing up I loved listening to Marty and Joe...but Marty is almost impossible to listen to now.

They have tried hard, but they just have not been able to replace the "old lefthander"once he rounded 3rd and headed for home.

Lance is awful, especially during the summer. If the Reds win the night before they're headed to the playoffs. If they lose it's everything that is wrong.

I really like listening to Lapham and Hoard. Listening to them do games and their weekly stuff actually spiked my interest in the Bengals the last 2 years.

I put the Chickster in the same category as Lapham, both sound like 6th graders on the radio, but both make me laugh, between the he lls and damns, and " PICK IT " of Lap, and the Chickster calling everybody, " STUD " it makes me laugh, just how unprofessional these two guys are, on the radio.

Ugh, no one mentioned him????

There is currently a petition going around to get NBC to drop Collinsworth.

A petition is circulating around the crowd-sourced activism website Change.org, calling for NBC to fire Cris Collinsworth.

The petition, which was posted Sunday, has received over 8,000 supporters as of this writing. Here is the petition's call-to-action:

We the Fans of the NFL, are fed up with Chris (sic) Collinsworth's bias, annoying, self-centered announcing style. Many viewers turns (sic) down the volume on their TV's to avoid having to listen to him. You are losing viewers because of him, and it will get worst (sic). We want him removed, so listening to a game will be enjoyable, instead of annoying!

The petition's poor grammar and spelling aside, the target goal of signatures is 10,000, which, for a petition that should carry a national appeal, seems like a paltry amount. NBC Sports, Collinsworth's home network, is one of the most widely-viewed sports networks in the nation, and has set a number of viewership records.

The petition is also curious given Collinsworth's award-winning career, having won five Emmy awards for his commentating over the last 15 years.

I like Collinsworth, because he usually tells it like it is about the Bengals, as does Boomer Esiason, not a very good organization, more worried about other things then winning.:thumb:

I am suprised that not many speak about Sean McDonough. He might be the best football announcer in the business, yet ESPN keeps rolling out guys like Mike Tirico and Fowler. I even think McDonough is better than Michaels and Jimmy boy Nance. I am wondering why he does not draw bigger games. He is very un-biased and has a true emotion to the game he is calling. Anyone else agree?
