Colts 26 Bengals 10

I expected a loss , things will never change. Just read the Mike Brown article by Doc today. Brown is happy with mediocrity while his club needs a change.

I like Andy as a person but as a football player I hate him. He does nothing to make the people around him better, which is what good QBs do.

I Marvin's 6 playoff losses how many times were the Bengals the betting favorite?

I don't know, just curious.

The only time they may have been the favorite was in the games they were at home, so twice at most - San Diego last year and a few years ago against the Jets? I pay zero attention to betting lines so that is just a guess.

Well I said this all week and my fear came true. I said if Green doesn't play er are in trouble. The colts will stack the box and man us up just like last time. Which just like last time we had no one who could get open. Dalton has sucked in the other playoff games however I am not as mad at him today. I sat up high today at the game. So I got to see the whole play develop and the receivers couldnt get open at all. There was no seperation at all. There were only two passes today Dalton threw that I think only a perfect pass would have been able to complete it. We had no passing threats who could get open.

This year injuries is a legit excuse. However I still want Marvin gone, I think the players just need a new voice to hear.

Wrong again. Even with AJ the Bengals would have lost. When you have a QB whomhas t cometed a pass Downfield in the last 17 qrts there is no way they win. The worst team in the playoffs just got embarrassed again In The first round.

Did anyone get to see Marvins post game press conference? Just curious what the record holding coach in the history of the game had to say.

Bengals don't under-achieve in the playoffs. They over-achieve in regular season. I truly believe that.

First one against Pittsburg we would have been favored.

Disappointed but really not mad about the loss. Lots of injuries to overcome and the Bengals are simply not good enough to do that.

Actually not wrong. I told you in the prediction thread not having Green would matter. Even with Dalton not throwing the ball down field well, teams always still kept a safety back over top on his side. I was at the game today and saw the whole field. The colts stacked the box and the safety's and corners came down hill right away. They had no fear of any Bengal beating them deep or in that matter even getting open. It was amazing how there was literally no one open on either side of the field the majority of the game. So as I told you in the prediction thread and as we seen Green not playing had a huge impact and also hurt our chances of being able to run the ball.

All that being said, Green has never played big in the playoffs either... So, even if he was 100% healthy, Marvin wouldn't have lead them to victory IMO.

Dalton has never scored

more than 1 TD in any of his playoff games. Those were

with a healthy AJ also so to think they would have won today without injuries is simply wishful thinking.

Five starters out on offense, not sure on defense. I have no idea if they would have won but I'd like the chance to have found out. It is what it is though.

Bottom line is in the third quarter, down by only three at the half, and getting the second half kickoff, going four three and outs was game over. I know injuries were very tough to overcome, but the Patriots and Brady lost 4 of the top 5 receivers from the previous year last year for the WHOLE YEAR, and made it to the AFC championship. At some point Daulton has to step up and MAKE plays. Now granted the play calling was pretty bad today, but at some point your leader needs to make something positive happen.

The defense played pretty good considering they were basically out on the field the entire second half, but with no help from your offense, it gets pretty dishartening. The Bengals are stuck with Daulton, so the best they can do is try to build as much as they can around him so he can "manage" the game. I am not bashing him as a person, I am sure he is a very good guy, but he has taken the team as far as he can. As far as Marvin, I think he is doing a good job with the cards that are dealt to him. Just remember the days of Bruce Coslet, Dick Lebeau, and everyone's favorite Bengals coach, Dave Shula. Yes it can get a lot worse.

Just to add another point to this Dalton issue... For some reason no one seems to point out that Dalton didn't draft himself... He was drafted by Brown, Marvin, Tobin and Gruden...

If Dalton is truly a horrible QB at the nfl level, then that still falls back on Marvin and the gang... Also, they gave him a contract extension...

Just another reason they need a new coach... You can't miss on a QB in the draft...it cripples you.
