Per ESPN. Owner Woody Johnson told Ryan and GM John Idzik that they wouldn't be returning in 2015.

Can the Bengals fire Marvin and hire Rex please?

Both deserve to be gone. I think Rex is brilliant on the defensive side of the ball, as in best in football, and players LOVED playing for him. But he had little say with personnel decisions and Idzik left him with maybe the worst roster in football. How they managed to stay in some games is beyond me.

He'd make a terrific DC.

Didn't Rex at least win a couple of playoff games?

With Mark Sanchez as the QB.

Hasn't been to the playoffs in 4 years though.

Two straight AFC Championship games.

That's a miserable roster. He can coach.

Went through Cincinnati for one of those? Hmmmm

That's a miserable roster. He can coach.

The big acquisition for the Jets last off season, with money to spend, was for a #3 WR in Eric Deker who became their #1. Eric Deker. They replaced losing Revis by letting go of Cromartie. They were starting a WR at DB early in the season. There have been situations teams have had to play WRs at DB, but the Jets were starting a WR if memory serves. Now Rex is not completely faultless, he had to have some say in their drafts, but the Jets have developed nobody in his tenure.

Defense. He can coach defense.

No way I want Rex as a head coach of any team I root for. As a Defensive Coordinator I would be tempted to fire the DC of any team I root for to hire Rex.

He can coach defense, just don't hand him a microphone.

I actually think Rex had a bad hand dealt to him when he got the job.

His tenure as HC consisted of having to start 2 rookie QB's.

He had Sanchez and then Gino Smith. Not too many coaches can succeed when your job depends on rookie QB's.

He also had his hands tied with an idiot GM.

Rex actually did a pretty good job with what he had to deal with. 2 AFCCG's in his resume is more than a lot of coaches can claim.

If Mvin had 2 AFCCG's under his belt he would be regarded as the best coach Cincy has ever had.
