Who is going to be the best quarterback in the state next year??

Featured Replies

The best Quarterback next year will definatly be Chaz Hope for madison central

He has a ton of upside. Needs to improve his footwork, but has a good arm and very good size. Makes good decisions. Won't he just be a junior this fall?

The Matthews kid from Shelby Co. is going to be pretty good. He has been starting since his freshmen year. He will be a Junior this year.

I would say Zoeller is the front runner at this point. I have heard rumor of a knee problem. the extent and timing of repair(if necessary) could play a big role in whose there for 7 on 7 and in top form come August. Senior Chris Wade is not out of the picture. Not great footspeed but a good, accurate arm. I think Hall will certainly get his reps, as he is most likely the QB of the future. And yes...you will see #3 behind center as well. The Tiger offense will role this year.

I think the Tigers will struggle at QB post Curley. He was as good a QB as X has had for a number of years. He might not have been as all-world as Brian was at Trinity but I think he was just as important to the Tigers the past two years. I'm not saying the Tigers will struggle as a team, but they will have a hard time replacing Curley.

I tend to agree with you on this one. Curley was a strong leader for the offense. He understood his role on the team and as a result, was extemely important to the success of the Tigers for the last two years. I think there is some good talent coming up but I don't believe any 'one' of the players fighting for the job this year will fill the leadership role Brent gave to the team. Obviously, he wasn't the playmaker Brian was (who is) but the intangibles made him vital to the success of the team. It will be very important for Vic or Eckman to step up and show strong leadership early in the year until one of these guys can take over. With the returning talent, I think they will be just fine, but as Rock says, they will have a hard time replacing Curley.

Now, in a couple of years... we may be able to put DJ Hall's name in the mix for top QB:thumb:

Typical offseason question marks that seem to almost always get answered when one of the many players that wait in the wings finally gets a chance to step up and show what they can do and there will be a "diamond in the rough" that comes to shine.

Was that a run on sentence?

This is the reason the Ts and Xs will continue the consistent winning ways. They have loaded the coffers with numbers of quality players and through the system develop those players to step up and fill roles when the times come.

According to all reports, Mboro's Trevor Hoskins impressed a lot of folks at the Elite 11 in Atlanta last Friday.

Clint Cashun should lock up the spot for best in the state. All though i heard alot of hype about Christian Co. QB heard him in a comparrission to Tim Couch and there wasn't much difference. This came from a man who has now coached both.

If Mike Whitaker said or even inferred that, he is blowing smoke. Tim Couch was a 6'5" 200 lb. phenom in high school. Keith Tandy is 5'11" with heels on and couldn't hold a candle to Couch, in my opinion.

From what I have seen and know, Kaelin Ammons might be the best high school quarterback in the state. He will be hard pressed to be a Division I quarterback, but is very effective in high school.
