Doesn't seem like the brightest decision their dept. has probably ever made.

So, I guess that it's still fair to say that even with events like these, that it's pretty much all on people who feel disenfranchised when it comes to police activity who, despite bringing all of the negativity upon themselves, should realize that they have the most to do in improving the obvious tensions that exist.

 

It's not like the singer, Gary Fishell, was a former Federal investigator though. And it's not like it was an insensitive song in a room filled with an audience that TMZ is reporting as being approximately 50-60 people, around half of which were officers, most of which were retired (i.e., but some current).

 

I know retired officer Joe Myers, who organized the event, really helped his case by saying, "This is America. We can say what we want. This is a free America,”. Ironically, Myers has now hired a lawyer and backed off of that statement, and isn't really seeing tons of people stepping up to his side.

For the record this is dumb and not something mature people Dom But they still haven't proved if there were any active cops at the funraiser. It was a fundrasier held by a retired LEO with mostly retired LEO in attendance .

Yes, you definitely can if you show some kind of encouragement, if you lie about being there during the investigation, if you stick around for the next song, lots of things like that, then you most definitely can. It's not like there's some standard that the only way someone gets in trouble is if they knew about it beforehand.

A friend in college took me to a country concert even though I knew I'd be miserable he convinced me by the "talent" at the country concerts. Out of no where one of the opening acts started playing a racist song . I was shocked and disgusted but I had no prior knowledge of who this chump was. I don't feel I should be judged because a college peer convinced me to go on a "talent" search.
