Not to most, but I'm sure that there are some out there who would enjoy it. Which I think he was trying to say in his post.

 

I think most people would say that they don't find rape jokes funny, but if I'm being honest I've heard one by Louie CK and I laughed. Doesn't make me a bad person or supporter of rape.

 

No argument there. Just saying you can't condemn one and excuse another for the same thing.

History has always given comics more leeway than someone tied to an organization like the police.

Well seeing how the song wasn't racist in anyway unless I missed a verse that even mentioned race. Then it is totally different. And what you just did was prove a point made in the entire incident is make it about race when the song had nothing to do with race. That is what Sharpton tends to do so even though you say you don't follow him or he doesn't speak for you, you just did the same thing he does and that is make it about race.

Of course. Some people might think songs can be funny about sexually abusing a baby. Most do not. This song leans that way .

Not even close, but it is what it is. Just glad I actually have a sense of humor and what a parody actually means.

 

For those that don't like humor and turn everything into race I will suggest never to listen to Jeff Dunham

especially when he has Achmed the dead terrorist.

I I just listened to the song again, no where did it mention race, no where did it say anything about race at all. What it said is Michael brown punched a cop through a car window. Not sure how that translates Into racist.

 

Again in just like the entire Ferguson was made racist when the shooting had absolutely nothing to do with race at all is what makes the entire thing a joke when people jump to the conclusion something is racist when it isn't.

 

Now ow if you don't know the difference between Sharpton saying Kill Whitey and a song about a guy who attacked an officer and is dead when race was never mentioned in the song at all is pretty sad.

 

If if somone never even heard about the Michael brown incident and just heard that song for the first time without knowing about the real situation, they could never ever in a million years come to thee conclusion that 1 Michael was black and 2 it had anything to do with being racist.

These retired officers and the guy in San Jose might have had the right to say these things but they are doing their fellow officers no favors by behaving like that. Given the current environment and all the resentment towards the police actions like theirs make it that much easier for nutjobs like the one in New York to act. If I were a police officer I would be incensed over their actions.

The problem is the officer who shot Michael Brown did nothing wrong, but with people like you saying these things make it seem as if the police were in the wrong in the shooting and you continue to shame them for doing nothing wrong. It reminds me of 9/11 and if we as American citizens should have bowed down to the terrorists simy because they felt Americans were wrong. Sorry I dont agree.

Do you agree that there is a mistrust between blacks and the police? Do you agree that some blacks believe that Ferguson is racially motivated? Do you agree that cops making a parody song about Michael Brown is insensitive and not a good look overall for cops? Especially the LAPD? Rodney King anyone? Do you understand that any black person who doesn't trust the police and believes that they put on a badge to eliminate all blacks will look at this song as proof to support their beliefs? And trust me, there are thousands of blacks who believe the cops put on badges to eliminate the black community. This song does nothing to eliminate that belief no matter how many times you try to listen to it and absolve it from being harmful.

Do I agree that there are issues with relations between people of ferguson and the police dept? Yes. Do I think everything that happens in that community automatically is racist? No. Do I think Michael Brown incident is racist no but too many people turned It into a racist incident which is wrong yet there are many in here still feeding the racist flames in that incident.

 

Do do I think the parody song was in bad taste? For me no. But I do see how some people would take it as distasteful. I also believe many of those people have thin skin and need to stop taking everything so serious.

Why are you guys ignoring the OBVIOUS fact that the messenger matters? This has the appearance that a police organization is singing about brains being splattered on the ground. In NO WAY is that similar to a performer singing a song. Red herring.
