December 19, 201411 yr My comments were more because I just thought it seemed like a dumb concept than political reasons. Ok. I believe we should be allowed to make and watch the dumbest of all movies if that's what we want to do, don't you?
December 19, 201411 yr In Obama's year end news conference, he just said that Sony's decision to cancel the movie was a mistake.
December 19, 201411 yr Anyone ever seen "The Great Dictator"? Charlie Chaplin lampooned Adolph Hitler and made him look like an absolute buffoon - and released the movie in the midst of World War II. ...according to a member of Hitler’s circle named Reinhard Spitzy, the real-life Nazi leader found [The Great Dictator] amusing. "...Chaplin himself almost nixed The Great Dictator as the extent of German atrocities in Europe became clearer. The film star feared there was simply nothing funny about Nazis. He also worried that many countries might simply ban the flick. President Franklin Roosevelt heard of Chaplin’s intention to scrap the film. The president sent an aide to deliver a message to Chaplin. “Make this film,” the president advised. Roosevelt promised he would use his influence to ensure none of America’s allies banned the movie."
December 20, 201411 yr Maybe they can show Innocents of Muslims in its place. After all we are country that cherishes free speech - even went offensive. Well.... Producer of anti-Islam film arrested, ordered held without bail - CNN.com
December 20, 201411 yr I posted this in the other thread... A lot of layers to this story which are intriguing going forward. - While the Hollywood stars are speaking out against Sony, will they rally behind Sony at some point as a revolt against the media for disseminating the hacked information? - The President said there will be a "proportional response." Your guess is as good as mine as to what the means, but something has to be done. How everyone responds to the media is interesting. People keep glossing over this side of the story. Howard Stern had a controversial week, but his stance is that these media folks are going to have to stand up and rise above the fray and the Hollywood folks need to stay strong behind Sony. Word? What happened with Howard Stern?
December 20, 201411 yr Ok. I believe we should be allowed to make and watch the dumbest of all movies if that's what we want to do, don't you? And we know that when we do you'll tell us how dumb that movie or tv show was. :lol2: :lol2: Sorry, it was a softball. :lol2:
December 20, 201411 yr In Obama's year end news conference, he just said that Sony's decision to cancel the movie was a mistake. Great, now everyone will flip flop and say Sony did the right thing. Sorry, sorry, another softball.

December 20, 201411 yr Author Word? What happened with Howard Stern? It was quiet the week for Howard Stern. He made his stance and one of the NY papers called him and idiot. Then he went on a classic rant.
