December 17, 201411 yr http://baseball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/41465/20141210/vegas_now_lists_cubs_with_12_1_odds_to_win_world_series This seems insane to me. Las Vegas likes the Chicago Cubs much better now that Jon Lester is in the mix. At 12-1 odds, the Cubs have moved into the top tier of favorites in Las Vegas to win the 2015 World Series.
December 17, 201411 yr Author Dang, I messed up the title by pasting the link on it. Can a Mod please give this a title that makes sense.
December 17, 201411 yr What kind of odds can I get if I want to bet against the Cubs making the World Series?
December 17, 201411 yr I can't get the image of Lester blowing the lead against the Royals out of mind to take the trade as serious as the odds reflect. Edited December 17, 201411 yr by bugatti
December 17, 201411 yr Author I can't picture any team being 12-1 to win the series at this point, let alone the Cubs.
December 17, 201411 yr I can't believe I'm even typing it, but I'd be tickled for Rocket and his fellow Cub fans if they got a chance at post season.
December 17, 201411 yr Sports book really don't think they are actually 12 to 1 to win it but so many Cubs fans excited nationwide and throwing a little money on them. So they had to lower the odds to protect the house, just in case. When big city teams become good and popular lines get adjusted because they know which side will get lots more action.
December 17, 201411 yr All I can say, Back to the Future Part II, the guy says "who would of thunk it, wished I could go back and bet some money on the cubbies"! and it was 2015, just weird. I think that is hilarious considering the movie is well over 20 years old. The central will hammer each other this year, only 1 team will get in I think, especially with Marlins/Braves/Nationals in the East, I think 2 of them make it, Dodgers/Giants/ in the west. Could be a long year for our Red Legs.
December 20, 201411 yr Cubs have signed veteran catcher David Ross. Bye Bye Wellington Castillo... Surely you're joking, right? Ross is only gonna be 38 on Opening Day and coming off a stellar .184/.260/.368 campaign. Methinks he's just insurance as they wait and see how Castillo develops. Ain't like he's the only RH batter who saw his numbers dive last year.

Cubs have 3 catchers on the roster, one they just acquired via trade and just signed one so one of the three has to go..
