You can open it up all day long and 5/25 won't win you ballgames.

This is the best Paris team I can remember. I expect them to win the 10th Region All A this season and with a good draw to make a good showing at the State. They will also be right in the thick of things for a 40th district title. Garrard is so strong, and the Indians didn't have anyone who could match his physicality. On multiple occasions he would miss a short jumper but power up for a rebound and putback. I think he's a legit top 5 player in the region. Clark hit several big threes including one at the end of the third quarter to stretch the Grayhound lead to 9 and Dumphord hit the game winner with 4.2 seconds left.

 

Montgomery Co just could not hit shots. As was mentioned they were 5/25 from 3 with Art Walker only hitting 1 out of 9 (he was 10 of 20 in the first 2 games). They weren't bad looks, the shots just didn't fall. Paris also forced several turnovers, especially on faulty entrance passes. The Indians led most of the first half but really struggled in the 3rd quarter. They played hard in the fourth and were able to tie the game with under a minute left, but couldn't pull out the victory. This game went very much like the game against West Jessamine Saturday night.

Cody Parsley and Braxton Hopkins both played well for the Indians as they surprisingly dominated the glass. Caswell Fuller had a great game and brought the Indians back in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately for the Indians, his 3 at the buzzer rimmed out.

 

The crowd wasn't that big but was loud with the Montgomery Co students and Paris girls team going at it. It provided a good atmosphere for an early December game.

 

The 40th district tournament 2/3 game will be one to keep an eye on when the postseason hits as it will feature 2 of the top 5-6 teams in the region.

Combs (though 6-9 is probably a stretch) played well for the Indians.

A majority of the 3s were good looks, they just didn't fall.

I think the team looks to be well coached despite the fact that 6 of the 7 guys in the rotation were playing other fall sports and have only been in basketball mode for less than a month.

What they are missing is Bryan Wallace, Darius Jones, etc...

 

I am confident Coach Daniel will do a fantastic job at Montgomery Co.

WOW!! They shot the three ball well in Brooksville the other night. Sounds like it was just the opposite last night and it cost the Indians. Great road district win for the Hounds!!

Great win for Paris and it continues to prove how "wide open" the regions 2-5 slots really are...............it'll be a fun year for us 10th Region aficionados.
