Your logic is flawed. Just because you need urban athletes to be competitive in 6a does not mean if you have them you will be successful. Did they offer a class in logic at HHS? Guess not!

The catholic diocese and even some other organizations offer tuition assistance to private schools NOT the schools themselves and this is supervised by the KHSAA. By the way I was going to take the high road with you on the T game till you just called me a liar. Eat some crow. I TOLD YOU SO! Trinity beat 8 teams better than the best team Dixie beat and schedule does matter. :popcorn:

Exactly, but winning football titles does do wonders for enrollment revenue and alumni donations. A financial driver the publics do not have!

The Catholic schools in Louisville raise the funds for tuition assistance, it does not come from the Diocese. The applications are administered and award amounts decided by PSAS. The KHSAA stipulation is that no more than 50% of the tuition can be awarded in aid, or they can't play sports.

St. X and Trinity do not have dorms on campus. They do offer financial aid. However, as I am aware it cannot cover more than half of tuition. The aid is open to everyone that qualifies (I received financial aid during my school years and never played any sports) and there is an additional work-study program which allows the kids to work off up to five hundred dollars of their tuition by assisting the janitors after school for a few weeks.

 

I did work study for all four years among many other students (at a rough estimate about 5% of the student body was in the program) and I never noticed a racial disparity in the program. It seemed like the same proportion as the rest of the school.

Honestly, it doesn't matter. I knew a couple of "urban kids" at cov cath on finacial aid that were strictly there for academics. I think they're doctors now. Financial aid... we're gonna argue financial aid versus free because of tax dollars?
