Robinson played a nice game tonight as well for SK. Pracht did not score and was in foul trouble from the start. Bezold and Seibert took over game for HC in 2nd half.

HC hit 9 3s while SK hit 6 with 2 coming in final 30 secs.

HC welcomes Boone Co to the Finn Center tomorrow night for their home opener.

Sk better learn to defend better than they did tonight or it is going to be a really long season. Way to many wide open 3's and HC got in the lane anytime they wanted.

How long is Racke out? I didn't realize he was injured as bad as he was. Heck of an athlete.

It didn't feel like he had that many. I'd argue SK didn't do a great job of getting hit he ball on the post. While he has a nice stroke I didn't see the logic of running him off of a pick for a 3 point attempt. HC's #22 got two quick fouls to start the game and then a third early in the 2nd half. It didn't seem like SK emphasized getting the ball to him in those situations. HC had not one else besides #22 who could match his strength.

Thanks for the scoop, wish I could have made it. Had coaching duties tonight. His strength is doing the blue collar stuff. If SK is trying to run the offense thru him it could be a long year for them. If they ran the pick once or twice good idea, not an all night event though. I didn't remember HC having any size left over from last year so the boards are not surprising to me. Very underrated player.

It looked like Covington Catholic North on the HC bench tonight.

Please explain this to the uninformed (me :)).

Most likely referring to the coaches.

Don't feel bad, I was going to sheepishly ask too. I guess that I should understand, but I don't. :idunno:

Ryan Schrand used to be the JV coach at CCH.

Kurt Bovard used to play at CCH.

Steve Muck used to play at CCH.

In a wide open 8th region, SK comes in overall at 4th in the preview, with more than a few NKY folks believing they can win it. A potential region champ CAN'T lose to Holy Cross. JMO. But, it's early...we will see how things shake out.

Let me take the opposite side here.

HC is a lot better than people assume - including better than I assumed. They play a unique offense that CAN be hard to defend.

It's game 1. SK has a lot of moving pieces. Heck, they put in a complete new 5 at the first sub. New PG figuring it out as well.

In other words, too early tell anything.

I will say I know Robinson and Fries didn't play in their last scrimmage. Once SK gets a good week of practice with everybody there they will be fine.

As I said, it's early and we will see how things shake out. Anyone can have a bad game...I as much as anyone else know that from my coaching experience. I still say though that it doesn't bode well for someone who wants to be a region contender, and I doubt very seriously when SK scheduled this game they thought it would a dogfight for them...much less lose the game. But there are lots more games to be played and it sounds like SK discovered something they need to work on, which should help make them better.

Bezold showed that if you do not know how to do a proper closeout you would be killed. You can make life really hard on a player like Bezold if you know how to close out.

McQueary from Boone used to thrive for this reason.

Who cares about 3's, were there any dunks?

SK was really impressive in pregame.
