I think ATLCat's point was he has to see Belfry actually beat Central before he's prepared to pick the Pirates. Have they cleared that hurdle?

Central was at the top and they may be again after Friday. But when they introduce them before kickoff only one will be called the defending state champions. Right? For the record, there isn't another team in 3A I would rather see the Pirates play for the championship. Win or lose.

I been on the road again, as they say in the song, for two months straight, now I got some time on my hands. I have missed the talk on here and wish I could have watched them Pirate boys on theyre march through the playoffs, but you know how it is, I gotta make the green to keep the home fires burnin. I did get to listen to a couple of games though and I think Belfry is ready to show Central who the new king is in 3A.

Belfry is just the better team this time around and they going to prove it. 21-7 Pirates.

I still can't make a call on this.
Come on, Sir Parker! Grab yer cutlass and yer matchlock pistol and cast yer lot aboard the Pirate vessel.

That's a whole lotta beef.

Anticipation is starting to get the better of me as the week drags on. I feel like a kid a couple of weeks before Christmas. I am really looking forward to this game.

Two old familiar foes going at it for the title. :thumb:

Lots of buzz of the "new look 3A" under next year's realignment.

The roads will once again lead through Central and Belfry.

Central will return 8 Starters both ways.

Belfry will return 7 each way.

Belfry should be able to move the ball consistently on the ground, so this is a game where you better take advantage of the possessions you have, because there may not be as many as usual. Belfry needs to convert when they get in the red zone and not turn the ball over.

If they break even on turnovers, I expect them to win by 10-14 points, due to just being a little too strong up front for this Central team.

Belfry will in all likelihood be the favorites in the East but are now joined by Bell and Corbin. I believe Corbin graduates a rather heavy senior class and Bell has a good amount of returning talent. Belfry moves to Region 3 which allows them to host the Semi's and get that key home field advantage. The West adds both Boyle and Lexington Catholic. Lexington Catholic will return 26 seniors based off of last seasons roster and will probably go in to next year as one of, if not the favorite, to make it to BG. 3A looks like it will be a beast for all those involved. Best of luck to the Pirates and one of my favorite players to watch, Austin Hatfield, this weekend.
