Best of luck to the Pirates and one of my favorite players to watch, Austin Hatfield, this weekend.

It has been a pleasure following Hatfield over his career.

Truly a throwback kind of player.

He will look to rush for over 100 yards in the Finals for the 3rd Straight year. Definitely will go down as one of the All-Time greats at Belfry for the FB position.

2C, looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Should be a good ballgame right out of the gate.

I am picking and rooting for Belfry. What a tradition and program they have there.

GO Pirates !

Belfry by a TD.

Looking like it may be wet track. Kind of worried about Belfry protecting the ball with Central's ability to strip players fighting for extra yards or held up vertically.

I had no idea his nickname was "El Toro." The first time I got to watch him play was in 2012 as a sophomore, run it down our throats to seal the victory at JC and have followed him ever since. Ironically, I had the chance to mentor his brother-in-law while he was still in engineering school and eventually work alongside him full time upon his graduation. He holds him in high regard not only as a player but also as a person. From everything I can gather, he is a player every coach dreams of having on their team. Every Monday one thing is certain, we gather around the drafting table to discuss our teams games from the week before and strategy going in to the next week. I'm thoroughly looking forward to this coming Monday as we hopefully discuss another Pirates State Championship. Safe travels Watusi and the rest of Pond Creek Nation.

His brother-in-law is an awful good guy, too. Rest assured, anything he's told you about the character of Austin Hatfield is easily understood if you get the chance to meet him.

He's the kind of kid that I hope my son resembles when he grows up, and I say that with no football reference in mind. But if he were to play the game with the pride and passion of Mr. Hatfield, while staying humble, I'd be all the more proud.

Belfry 21-14.

Belfry gets revenge 14-10.

Good luck Pond Creek Nation!!!!!
