I think that has been the main question about Owens. Hopefully he can realize his potential and have a nice college career and make use of his education.

After watching Owens on Saturday, I have come to the conclusion that he is probably the best player that I have seen at Boyd County - talent wise. His emotions and reactions sometimes could possibly keep him out of the consideration for the overall best players, but talent wise he is the best. I was real excited to see him play against some of the state's best, and he was quite impressive. He was being guarded the whole game by one of the state's best defenders (Joshua Mack- Univ Heights), and still was able to go 11-13, while scoring at ease. Mack is probably one of the quickest players in the state and he couldnt keep Owens from the deadly crossover.

 

It really makes me wonder how in the world that Boyd County could not even make it out of the Districts?? You could put 4 kids that could barely score or dribble with Owens and still win ballgames...blows my mind.

Uhh, I thank Antonio shot them out of the game in the 3rd quarter against Fairview in the district game.

 

He's by far the most talented IMO ever to play at Boyd Co.

I think a good junior college experience would benefit him greatly, and if that went well IMO could play bigtime college basketball.

Job well done by whoever hosted this game. Easy to get into, Great Location, Great Gym with a great basketball atmosphere. Transy has one of the best gyms in the state for a small college and all th coaches were classy.

 

I seen a lot of college coaches there, including Transy(of course), Alabama, Union, several D2 andD3 college. Rumors went around that a UK scout was present.

 

I overheard that Antonio was going to sign with Western Kentucky early in the season but started getting contacted from UK and is trying to hold off untill he sees how that goes. Several large colleges were mentioned such as Alabama and UMass as contacts. Goodluck Antonio.

How did the other players like playing with him?

No doubt he is a talent, just wondering how he got along with his teammates this weekend?
