Good Job Catholic. Great game by both teams, wish this could of been the game to send either team to state. Who does Catholic have coming back next year? I know Boyle returns a lot and should be right back in this game next year. I also must add that having Garrard county in the district next year it will be some wars, I know they return a lot also. This district is gonna be fun the next 4 yrs!

 

We return a lot but the seniors we lose are very talented. If we can get QB play that's half as good as what we got right now we will be very good.

If you must know. On offense they loose the great Reese Ryan, WR Hatton and O'neil, 2 O-line. Yes all those fast receivers, Ogbogu, Thompson and his twin brother, Morris will all be back along RB with Jalen Jones. On defense they loose LB Chase Boling, The Cobra, SS Couch and CB Griggs. Pretty talented group coming back huh! Now if they can just develop the next great QB, Lex Cath might just contend with Boyle Co and Garrard Co next season.

Both teams played to win. It was an extremely good game. Boyle a County got inside the 10 yard twice and came out scoreless. Also got inside the 20 I believe on another possession and missed the field goal. You have to finish drives this time of year. Lexington a Catholic made them pay for their mistakes.

As has been stated before in previous threads, Boyle County must be better to make up for the play calling in tough situations.

Did it seem strange to anyone else that Boyle took the ball down to LC's 10 yd line using their 3 back set, then with a 1st down Mason goes to the 1 back pro set. No yardage , no points. Then with a 4th down and 2 on LC's 5 yd line he runs Robbins to the left out the one back pro set, no yardage no points. LC had not been able to stop Boyle's 3 back set all night. Did he think he was going to fool the opposing coaches? Brilliant play by Robbins could only bail him out some of the time, but not every time. Our players,fans and even our other coaches deserve better!

The loss is not Coach Mason's fault.

Sad commentary when a team scores 45 points in a game but the finger pointing goes to the offensive coordinator. I'd say there's plenty of blame to go around if individual plays are going to be singled out as the cause of the loss.

 

I'm not going to engage in that discussion. This is my last post in this thread. The game is over. I'm moving on to Boyle County basketball now.

You guys are already trying to point fingers at Coach Mason. I am part of this team. I know the team inside and out better than most of any of you could. I have to wonder with you guys. Why do you think it was a offensive play calling problem that cost us the game? To me putting up 35 points was not a problem. Allowing 40 points on Kickoffs and Defense is devasting. Defense wins and loses games. You complain when we win or lose. If we pass the ball or run the ball you complain. I remember a thread earlier this year with you complaining about how we ran the ball too much. This game we passed the ball and you complain. Do you know all these little guys on here who say that Boyle fans are rude and stuff like that.. Well when listening to that.. maybe they are right because all you do is complain. So if you're placing blame on who cost us the game. Blame Jaylen Jones, Reece Ryan, JJ Ogbogu, Andy Thompson, Chase Boling, Griggs and Cody Mitchell. They are the real reason that we got beat. They simply out played us when it counted.

 

 

And I have a question for next year. What are you planning on complaining about. Aidan will be gone, so will Brandon Devins, Keagain and Zach. Toro and Sowders will be gone from the line. Are you going to complain that Josiah passes the ball too much or are you going to complain that Gunner, EB and Reeves run it too much?

No argument there. He definitely improved since the first game and played an outstanding game.

 

Just keep him on one side of the ball. Ironman ball sounds great - till the third week of the playoffs.

Ditto. He is too valuable to be playing both ways. Keep him healthy as a QB and scouts will be calling.

Small Colleges will give him a shot for football, but if he wants to play D1, it will be for baseball. This kid is the real deal in Baseball!

I believe D1 schools would recruit him in football as an athlete. This boy avg over 20 yds per catch as a feshman in varsity football. Also dependingon the system he could play a lot of different spots. However, baseball is probably his biggest ticket. He is unbelievable on the diamond in every facet of the game. I also heard a couple of pro scouts have already talked to him and he has 2 seasons to go in High School baseball. The sky is the limit in baseball.
