Had to be the worst way to lose a playoff game. I feel sorry for your players.

 

In relation to the aside conversation, I saw some atrocious stuff when Danville visited there in 1991. I am certain that it has to be better now.

This did happen, but only involved 3 or 4 kids, who were dealt with appropriately by the school.

 

Corbin has kids of all colors and nationalities in the school system and on the football team, but the ignorant things that many repeat(not talking about you at all)that grow as they move down the line, keep it from becoming as racially diverse as it would otherwise. Most is nothing but urban legend.

Those plays were never really questioned. I think he actually had him by the back of the helmet instead of the facemask, which is still a penalty. The balls that appeared to hit the ground were on the previous drive.

Without a doubt...they completely nailed both calls. For all the criticism being vocalized there is no doubt that in those two instances the officials were spot on.

From what I saw on the last camera view the facemask was the second penalty actually. The defender clearly horse collar tackles the defender to get him down and finishes the tackle with the facemask.

The guys who run the tournament are big into The Sons of Confederate Veterans, which is not any type of racist organization.

Well that doesn't sound racist at all. Neither does Confederate flags attached to everything. I wonder why on Earth anyone would get that impression.

Corbin has never played OBI in the All A at Corbin.

 

Ok, sorry, and since you want to call me out on it being at Williamsburg, I'd like you to address why it was still going on in the third quarter when you'd previously said it was just a few students who were quickly told to stop.

I think that this is what is confusing folks:

 

It was a very good game. Corbin got a little timid defensively, playing bend but don't break type defense and Central was able to nickel and dime it through the air down the field. They went 80 yards in the final 1:30 of the first half to score on the last play before halftime, this after Corbin had a long TD run called back on a holding call. The flag was thrown after he was 40 yds down the field and came from the opposite sideline(Central's side), saw the flag thrown and there could have been a hold, it was just very dubious timing. Central then scored after receiving the opening kickoff of the second half, after having the drive kept alive after an incompletion on 3rd down by a late hit penalty on Corbin. I have no idea what the backjudge(who seemed to always throw his flag at the most inopportune time) saw because the WR had the ball in his hands when the Corbin player made the hit, knocking the ball loose. The next to last play is foggy to me because it looked like the Corbin DB was going to intercept the pass when the Central player hits him and the ball looks like it is just falling to the ground when someone on the ground kicks it and it bounces to another Central player who is then tackled with the clock at 00. Corbin storms the field thinking they have won, then the official clears them off the field and there was an apparent penalty called. So now Central gets an untimed down and the Central player dives for a low throw, which may or may not have skipped off the ground for the game winning TD. The officials all looked around at each other before the back judge finally signaled TD.
