Me either. Things would never ever be the same and he'd be branded by the community. It's a thankless job to be a cop. I am certain he would be able to find a police department willing to hire him and enable him to be happy, make a living and take care of his family. If he is exonerated and proven to not have maliciously slain Michael Brown I hope he is able to move and live his life.

How would this person (if exonerated) feeling that he "has" to relocate to insure his or his families safety be any different then a black family feeling the "have" to relocate if they were harassed by the Klan?

 

I recently heard what was happening in Ferguson described as a modern lynch mob. Not sure I disagree with that assessment.

When people are chanting they want him and want him dead there is no other way you can look at them as anything less than a lynch mob. Obviously not all of the protesters are doing that, but enough of them are.

In all seriousness, the guy could be completely innocent, but unless I'm in a town that's white as snow, there's no way I want to hire him just because of the potential for a firestorm.

However in this case he's been made a villain no matter what the evidence shows...people would bait him, harass him and possibly attack or try to kill him because of the way he's been portrayed. I honestly don't know if the shooting was justified or not...if it wasn't he needs to be held accountable...if it was he needs to be left alone.

Here is something I thought of, How much of the riots and protest are still some blow back from the Zimmerman trial?

Do you think he'd have any options working in a place where things are pretty quiet (i.e., going to a retirement community in Florida where there's little to no crime, etc.)? I'm asking because I'm honestly curious and JumperDad's quote about him trucking had me wondering.

 

I would guess that lots of people with ex-military and/or policework in their backgrounds could go to a quieter venue on the private side working security for businesses, etc.

 

I'm sure that some businesses would be afraid that they'd be demonized for hiring him right away though, which is unfair to him if he's acquitted.
