Now shouldn't you know the answer to that better than just about everyone other than Coach Love and staff?

I did mean next year and I know of the options available based on the kids that took snaps at practice this year. They all have some upside and some weaknesses. This is no different than every player on the team. If Ashland is to compete next year every returning player needs to find a way to get better.

I believe Dowdy will eventually get the starting spot. Whether that is next year or the year after, I have no idea.

 

Edit: In my opinion it will be Tate Dowdy, for some reason I was thinking Prince was a junior.

I think he definetly has what it takes, your right though, it wouldn't hurt to add a little muscle. His father was a good qb himself, from what I hear.

I would say he is capable of both. Needs reps and confidence. Needs a little swagger. He wouldnt be the breakaway threat that Prince was but I believe his accuracy throwing the ball would be better.

Better throwing accuracy would be a big plus in my opinion. Not just because Ashland already has a couple of great rushers, I have just always favored a true qb over a "dual threat" qb. I think the term dual threat is overrated, because in most cases it just means they are an average passer and rusher when compared to good qb's and backs. I would rather have a qb that can be relied on to make good passes, leave the running to the backs.

I didn't really pay attention but you're right, at the time that post was made it really didn't make much sense.

I think the Tomcats might want to look at Drew O'Bryan or Josh Bradley at QB. Drew took snaps at QB as a freshman I believe, and Bradley was QB in middle school. Both might offer a player who is more physically able/ready to be the starting QB.
