I think OSU is damned if they do, damned if they don't. If they beat teams by 70, everyone will say it's just because the Big 10 is that weak. If they don't beat teams by enough, people will say they are as weak as the rest of the Big 10.

 

I tend to agree with you here. I am a fan but don't think that they will get in the playoff. Having said that, I will say that with the way tOSU is playing right now, I don't think that any coaches of the teams ranked ahead of them would want to play them. I realize that opinion and $1.00 will by me a coffee at McDonalds but so be it. :idunno: :lol2:

If they get to play either team PM me a spread and we will do business. Urban is sending the slow boys down south a few hours, not your daddy's OSU anymore. You all get 1 more year to enjoy this, savor it.

I just don't get this mindset at all, and I LOATHE with the intensity of 1,000 suns The Ohio State Buckeyes.

 

1. Mississippi State still has @ Alabama, @ Ole Miss, and potentially a SEC title game. They are going to drop.

2. Oregon still has @ Oregon State and a Pac 12 title game. Likely won't drop and will be in Top 4.

3. Florida State still has @ Miami, home with the Gators, and an ACC title game. Likely won't drop and will be in Top 4.

4. TCU still has @ Texas, but without a title game, and if they are only co-champs with Baylor, are iffy to hang here.

5. Bama hosts Miss. State and Auburn, and has an SEC title game. My hunch is they win out and are locked in Top 4.

6. Arizona State has @ Arizona and a potential tilt with Oregon in Pac 12 title game. They will drop from this spot.

7. Baylor is the most likely, in my mind, to win out. However, I don't think that will be enough to climb into Top 4.

8. tOSU has @ Minnesota and really needs a Top 10 Nebraska in the Big 10 Title game. Certainly will be close if they win out.

 

Is it likely that Ohio State can sneak into Top 4? No. Is it quite possible though? Sure. If you take Florida State and Bama as locks, assuming they win out, and then either Oregon or Arizona State, that leaves either Ohio State or TCU / Baylor (with no last chance to impress that first weekend in December). As much as I detest Ohio State, to dismiss them in such a cavalier fashion is wrong in my opinion.

 

There are even other possibilities such as Alabama beating Miss St badly and then Auburn beating Alabama badly. Or Arizona State losing to Arizona and then beating Oregon.

Auburn wins out, they may not make the playoff, but I'd say they have a shot at leaping a 1 loss Ohio State, especially if Alabama rolls Mississippi State like I expect.

Watching the game on TV, makes me wonder if showing them playing in a snow storm hurts recruiting? I know I am getting old and I don't like the cold anymore but it has me thinking, then you flip the channel and see Florida/SC game and everyone is in t-shirts and shorts.

Trust me, no one n the SEC is losing sleep over OSU or Meyer.

It's a fact that they have too score as many as they can every week. That said, they will go for 50 points like they do every week. Minny is a top 30 team & at home, I'd be very happy with close to 50.
