Happy Veterans Day

Featured Replies

Veterans Day continues to be observed on November 11, regardless of what day of the week on which it falls. The restoration of the observance of Veterans Day to November 11 not only preserves the historical significance of the date, but helps focus attention on the important purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. Thank you veterans!

Perspective folks...here's an earth shattering concept! If not for the efforts and sacrifices of many that fought for the United State of America there's a really good chance your family as you know it, simply would not exist!

Today is a time to honor all who have served, as well as, pray for those who have suffered loss in the process. Thank you on behalf of my family to the many who have served. I pray for you and your combat brethren A LOT.

God bless you Vets and all active duty service folks...

Thank you, Vets!

Thanks to all our veterans! Your service is greatly appreciated. :thumb:

Ditto to what everyone else said. Not enough thanks in the world for them.

My Dad. Korean War Vet. US Navy.

I was born into a military family, that's what we do....the number of uncles, cousins, grandfathers and fathers that served or have served is difficult to count. A couple years ago, I started calling my dad on Veteran's Day to thank him for his service. I felt like saying "Happy" wasn't the correct approach. I am the firstborn son of my Dad. I was 10 months old before my Dad ever saw me because he was in Vietnam. I can't imagine not being there when my sons were born.

Today, when I called, I was more than a little teary eyed to tell him thanks. Dad is getting older, but still fondly recalls stories about his 30 + years of service. He attended both my nephew's school service and my son's school service to honor Veterans. I realized that he is getting older and as each Veteran's Day passes is less likely to be available to honor. He is the reason that I was a soldier, no more, no less.

For those that have never been in the service, please extend the honor everyday to a Veteran.

For those that have served and understand, Thank You....
