2015 St. X football schedule

Featured Replies

Is that Ryle game (Bluegrass Bowl) in Lexington or is St.X hosting????

Its the Bluegrass Bowl. Idk who Catholic is playing in the other game but it'll be another topflight team, X fans should stick around and watch another quality football game.

The rumor is they were looking for a more competitive team than SK to scrimmage so they are trying to replace SK with Assumption.

Yea SK almost tied the game up this year in the final seconds.

For Avid: No way is the Cincy X game "as big" as the T game for X. Ask any player on this year's team if they would be just as happy this year if X would have lost to T and beaten Cincy X and I cannot imagine a single player would make that trade.

For all the BG folks (and to a degree i am one): BG stopped scheduling T. Fine. I hated that on both fronts. But you cannot dodge the best team in the state for the past decade and then claim that you are the best team in the state. It doesn't work that way. And while I am not sure what the overall record of BG vs. T is, I am pretty sure - though not positive - that BG has never beaten T.

Yeah but T can't beat X now so it looks like BG knew what they were doing when they upgraded their schedule. Why should BG lower themselves to play Trinity? That doesn't make sense.

BG has been scrimmaging Manual the last couple of years, St. X has been on the schedule the last 4 years. With or without Trinity those are high quality games.

I'll also add that the information surrounding why BG refuses to schedule T was posted a long time ago. After finding out that info I can't say I blame the powers that be at BG for not scheduling them.

And lastly, I haven't seen any BG fan claim that BG is the best team in the state either.

Considering BG cancelled the series after the 2010 that argument holds no water. There is no question who the best team was in KY in 2011 and 2012. Frankly there is no question in 2013 either since BG dominated all that year.

Last season Trinity was not as good as BG, but both teams still beat X. This season I think that Trinity and BG would have been a darn good game.

Either way let's not get into this argument of teams "lowering" themselves to play others. T, BG or X are big games for any team in KY and likely in most of the neighboring states as well.

I do find it amusing that after Trinity has two subpar seasons everyone is out with their pitchforks.

Back to the thread at hand. St. X has a good schedule next season. I wouldn't criticize Central after a down season or two. Although I do wonder if Central's downturn has anything to do with Male's huge resurgence.

Sarcasm.

#sorrynotsorry you missed it.

Doh! Long day.

I concede that it is HUGE for X, far and away the second biggest game on the schedule. All I'm saying is that if you ask any former or current player, "If you have to lose to either T or Cincy X and you will win the other, who would rather beat?", 99.9% of the Tigers will choose to beat T. Thus Cincy X is not "as big" as the T game.

As a T fan I am betting the X schedule is going to be as good or better than T's next year simply because of the district foes and nothing else. The silly comment about X having a better relationship with local schools holds no water. T has Male & PRP on next year's schedule. Locals feel like T has come back to the pack and are willing to schedule again. Wish BG would do the same. I wouldn't throw a single stone at the 2015 X schedule. Kudos.

 of course we would rather beat T than X. Frankly, wish we would beat both in the same season. But I was just trying to express the magnitude of the X game.

Why do they schedule Bowling Green every year, got to be demoralizing knowing you cant beat them.

Demoralizing is having to use another team to do your smack talk.

I think its a fantastic schedule for X. Will probably be rated the 2nd toughest in the state overall and is tougher than this years schedule which prepared them enough to beat Trinity, so........................................

St. X AD, Alan Donhoff has released the schedule for the 2015 seaons

Ryle - Bluegrass Bowl

Bowling Green

@ Central

@ Highlands

@ PRP

Trinity

@ Manual

Male

Butler

Cincinnati St. X

Still a lot of work to do in '14, but nice to get a glimpse to the future.

2014 is over now:thumb:. Do you have corresponding dates?

I like the schedule, love KY's best teams playing each regardless of class, that's the way it should be, would like to get T in the BG/Highlands rotation

Saw St. X will be hiring a new OC for the upcoming season.

Hmmmmm....may be wrong but, if true I believe that this will be the third OC in the new regimes 3 seasons. Makes you wonder if there is a plan in place. Just sayin.
