November 5, 201411 yr Not a rep or dem. A question for you republicans. Your party has the House and the Senate. They will get the top spot of the President in the next election. The democrats have shown that controlling two of the three doesn't work. When your party shows it cannot make things better in this country as they control all three how will you twist it to make it the democrat's fault? November 5, 201411 yr Big assumption that the Rs win the WH in 2016. Not sure what your angle is but one thing history just proved - they didn't like the past 2 years of Obama and Reid .

I would consider myself more of an independent, but clearly you're bitter. :eyeonyou:
November 5, 201411 yr I'd say they would take a page from the Dems playbook and do just like they did the first 2 years of Obama's presidency when they controlled all the WH and both houses of Congress. The accomplished NOTHING and then blamed the Reps for it.

November 5, 201411 yr I think IF the R's win the White House in 2016 there is a very good chance the Democrats retake the Senate anyway. I believe in the next cycle the Republicans are defending seats much as the democrats had to this year.
November 5, 201411 yr I agree. It'll look like President Obama's first two years where they push some stuff through. However, they likely won't have a 60-vote majority in the Senate because I don't think the map is as friendly to Republicans down the road as it was this year. They may even lose the Senate again in 2016 depending on what the presidential race looks like. That being the case, it'll be the Democrats fault because things won't get through the Senate. And they'll be right: it will be the Democrats' fault for that.

Lots of tough defenses for the GOP in 2016: Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania... And with Obama off the ticket, Hillary or not, I don't think the Republicans will be able to continue riding an anti-Democratic wave in a big-turnout presidential election year.
