November 5, 201411 yr If what you say is true, then that is pretty sad. There was not a 15 point swing in 3 weeks from Grimes to McConnell. She was never really ahead. Externally released polls are meant to shape the election...not really provide objective reporting. Campaigns have their own professional polling that is probably getting better and better every year with big data mapping. External polls are only accurate on the last pass since they want to be right with their final poll. What is sad is that the LHL chose to be an operative in the campaign. Its pretty clear they were doing what they could for the hometown girl.

November 5, 201411 yr Author Did any of you guys see where Harry Ried's chief of staff called Obama a "bad messenger" last night. We could possibly seeing a democrat revolt from Obama in the Senate. This could get very interesting. Rumors floating that Harry Ried was getting sick of protecting the president and may take it out on him on a few votes early next year. Keystone Pipeline is all but a done deal now.

And even busier if he wants to get into Bill Clinton range. I know this will be an ongoing talking point but just to present the facts - Obama has issued executive orders at a lower rate than any president in the past 125 years.

They had the race close a couple weeks out but I don't think they ever had Grimes leading. In their poll a week or so before the election they showed momentum shifting fast to McConnell and had him with about a 5 point lead. I believe people wanted to vote McConnell out, and perhaps even told pollsters they were leaning to Grimes, but when the election got here they couldn't vote Grimes despite their disdain for McConnell. She was never able to pin an issue on McConnell that gave voters the reason they needed to vote for her.

When it comes to scrutiny over executive orders, I think you need to look at the substance of those exec orders, not the numbers. Most of the presidents in the past issued Ex O's which people may not have liked but rarely griped that they should have been a bill passed by congress. Obama is critized due to some of his garnering quite a bit of attention due to most people even democrats feeling they should have been bills through congress, not ExO's.
