Grimes is currently giving her concession speech. Is it just me or does she say "Kentucky" a little funny? :D

The biggest question is if republicans take the Senate. If they do the political forums here are going to be red hot. The Senate has been a grave yard for bills the last few years and is almost at a record setting pace at votes being taken up. If republicans take the Senate the American system will be on display. A true check and balance will be in place as Obama will now be forced to veto bills and an even greater debate across the country will take place.

They're going to. All but guarantee it.

So, now that he's won, and President Obama can't win a 3rd term, what are we going to bicker about?

2016 has already started, we'll find something.

The only way anything legally gets done is if enough Dems work with the Repubs to pass veto-proof bills. Obama still has veto power and if a bill is not veto-proof the bottleneck moves from Reid to the White House.

So...what can we expect to pass if your ideal scenario comes to fruition?

If Mitch looked like George Clooney and Alison looked like Rosie O'Donnell he would have won by a 3 to 1 margin. That is still the #1 thing I remember from my Public Opinion & Voter Behavior class in college. Ability to get elected and ability to govern are two very different things.

For the record, I voted about 2/3 republican and 1/3 democrat. Having met both McConnell and Grimes, I am happy with the outcome.

She is NOT a good speaker.

Grimes did not have sufficient gravitas to beat McConnell.

Another comment: How inaccurate (or bogus) was the Grimes poll that came out 2-3 weeks ago showing her to be ahead.

That was LHL trying to do their role in keeping the national money flowing in. Notice that a few days later the national party pulled out. And in the last poll they had McConnell ahead comfortably. It was completely bogus with a purpose.

Pretty amazing that the top guy in the House (Boehner) and the probable new top guy in the Senate (McConnell) are only about two hours apart. Good for this area to have two guys in very powerful positions so close.

Yeah they have really done a great job handling the Brent Spence Bridge issues.
