It is difficult to move the ball against Manual. I know very little about McCracken but unless they catch some breaks on special teams or from Manual turnovers, I can't see them scoring a lot (unless they are an offensive juggernaut). Manual has some tall receivers which could be problematic for a short secondary. Their QB is good, too, IMO.

McCracken beat a very fine team from Southaven, MS. That team was loaded with athletes. McCracken has very good team speed and a strong defense.

I'm afraid Mc fans just don't understand 6-a football just yet. Not only dose Manuel play a lot of guys they are good players.

McCracken is a solid team, but, I really like Manuals defense in this one.. I do think it'll be close, but, Manuals offense will likely move the ball better against the Mustangs than the Mustangs will on them.. I'm thinking a 28-14 type score in this one..

Manual's defense will be enough to slow down a high-powered McCracken offense and pull out a win.

Manual traveled to Bowling Green this year and fared very well. Bus ride was 3 plus hours with construction. Shut the Purples out and put up 26 points on a very similar defense to McCracken. They look to be the fastest team they have faced this year but very similar to last years Butler team as far as speed. I expect Manual to put up 4 TD's and hold McCracken to a season low 2 TD's. McCcracken has not played a Physical and fast team built this year like Manual. And oh by the way guess who's back!!!!!! Rhymes with Hero!!!!!! Final - Manual 28 - McCracken 17. #11 is a stud for the Mustangs.

 

I think the Mustangs played a team with comparable size and speed in Southaven. The major question mark is the Mustang offense. Will we see the offense that is highly capable of lighting up the scoreboard, or the offense that has looked disinterested the past month? The Mustangs must play a mistake free game to come out victorious.

 

As far as the score is concerned, I believe Manual should be favored with a score of 28-24. As for Mr. Rhymes with Hero, it's hard to believe he will come back to contribute only 2 months after ACL surgery. Just hope he makes the best decision for his future, although I'm excited to see him play if he's at full strength.

Will Nero play in this game for Manuel?

 

The bus ride does matter, but I think Manuel will overcome it after a sluggish start. McCracken is a very good team, but hasn't faced the schedule Manual has and I look for Manual to pull ahead in a tight game in the 4th quarter where Manual's tough D gets it done for them. :thumb:

The overall team talent of the schools like Manual, Male, T, and X are what sets them apart. I've said multiple times on here, it's not the number of boys at those schools that gives them the advantage. It's the total talent pool those boys come from. Henderson has roughly 1000 boys from a pool of 1000 boys. Manual has roughly 800 boys from a pool of something like 8,000 +/-.

 

I think McCracken could have the best 1 or 2 athletes on the field. However Manual's 1-11 are on average better on both sides of the ball. It's hard to explain or prepare for until you see it for the first time.

 

We could be way off and McCracken could win and I hope they do. But I will be surprised if it happens.

Is there anyway this is accurate? He had knee surgery less than 2 months ago for a torn ACL.

I don't think you can compare a preseason scrimmage against a team with all new starters across the board with postseason football. Just my opinion, although it does sound impressive.

The trip down could have some effect but it's only 3 hrs not 5 as some have said. McCracken is a solid club that is better offensively than defensively. I'm pulling for McCracken to take this one and they can if the defense can pull through.

This one all hinges on which McCracken team decides to show up-

The one that gets out to an early quick start and sets the pace with its speed and athleticism could very well win.

On the other hand, the one that starts slow and gets senseless penalties for dancing in the endzone will lose.

It does sound impressive but Nero was 100% and it was 13-0 in 3 quarters of varsity action in the scrimmage with BG.

Remember Nero's injury was a slight tear not a total reconstruction. He has been working for weeks just waiting to make his return and trust me when he does it will be 100% and on a mission. Trust me when I tell you this Manual team is not looking past McCracken and is as focused as I have seen this group in the two years I have been watching them. Nero or not, they will show up, be prepared for the Air Raid Offense (#1 in the state I think, if not top 5 for sure), and give all they got for 4 quarters, this team will not quit and seems to get stronger as the game goes on. Wish the best of luck to both teams Friday but like Duncan McCloud always said "There can be only one".
