November 3, 201411 yr Had zero trick or treaters again. I had the lights on, but it is 1/4 mile from the road to our door, so no one will take the trip through the woods to get there. Then there is not much on the road to begin with either.

November 3, 201411 yr True story about the new (6 months old) granddaughter. Son and daughter-in-law are both long-time vegetarians. They took the child to a smattering of houses; people they know. One of them was her "nanny" who takes care of her in the daytime. "Nanny" gave granddaughter a sweet potato. Wife and I were saying that this could be a new twist if they re-make the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving/Great Pumpkin special. "I got a sweet potato."
November 3, 201411 yr ... Took my son, a buddy of his, my daughter, and a buddy of hers out on Friday night. It was FREEZING!!! My son's buddy, and the two girls, bailed at 7:00 (after an hour). My son and I went back out until 8:00 -- dude is a trooper. My favorite highlight of the night was Hellbird and the Mrs., after not being home when we hit his house, coming by my house later in the evening to drop off some goodies for my son. Strong move.

November 4, 201411 yr We normally have 30-40 kids. This year there was only 4. We have already decided that next year will be an adult Trick or treat party going house to house for adult treats.
